DD matches just seem like a slugfest??

I'm getting the feeling when playing DD that matches are just HR slugfests, the majority of the scoring is HRs and just gets a bit old quickly,

Is this just me?

And does it happen in other game modes or just diamond dynasty?

The hitting difficulty is based on both your opponent's rating and your rating. Maybe this is it? Those who are just starting out with DD the difficulty will be Rookie or Veteran.

My games always feel a bit light on doubles but the runs seem to come from a mix of HR and strings of hits. But given the lineups everyone has know I can see how if you make a lot of mistakes pitching your game can turn into a sligfest pretty quick

DD in the higher ranks very much is a slug fest. Although there's a few who like the bunt+steal+bunt+steal combo.

I think that hitting could use an overhaul... Strike out rates are too high, there is too much weak contact (how often to you see a real weak grounder in the mlb?? it's too easy to "pull off" or "chase" a pitch. I swear I sit high inside fastball soo often, get it and still cant hit it hard because it doesn't line up totally with the dot. it gets frustrating, low breaking balls (in the strikezone) are much easier to hit because you have time to move the PCI properly. with a fastball if it isn't exactly where you set up your zone you're pretty much screwed

That's what happens when people's roster are filled with 90+ players and the difficulty is still set to All-Star or Veteran.

I'm in the Championship Series with a rating slightly below 1800 and my team batting average has dipped down to around .240 but the majority of my hits are home runs. I should rename my team to the Edwin Encarnicions.

Edwin needs an upgrade. His OPS is 1.159 in his last 30 games

I'm in the CS. I managed to stick around the 1900's scoring a little under 3 runs a game. doesn't feel like a slug fest to me

Once you get up there people use elite pitchers, that usually cancels out the slugfest. I actually haven't played terribly much because I'm still building my team before I go all in playing that mode but when I have, it seems like I get killed or the other team does. I'm at 1770s or something like that.

I always found my DD games to be pitchers duels more than slugfests. Hadn't changed much since the beginning. Personally my biggest gripes would be that I find pitchers get way too many hits and it's way to easy to bunt your way on board and steal with speedy players. I have played against guys that bunt like 20 times a game even with 2 strikes and are way to successful

Completely agreed, it's extremely frustrating because the bunt always seems to get placed in the perfect spot at the perfect rolling speed, while your guys react and field way too slowly for guys who are elite at their position

I've seen Prince Fielder lay down way too many bunts against the shift and have it be in the exact perfect spot
