Have the graphics improved at all?

I am not that hardcore of a player to notice the little gameplay changes. What I do notice is no graphical improvement and same animations. To me this looks like madden 16. For the ones that played it, is there any graphical improvement?

i definitely see a graphics improvement but nothing major. the animations are basically the same though, unfortunately.

Wanting changes to animations I can understand, but again, if you're wanting graphical improvement every year in a sports game, you're setting yourself up for disappointment. Although...in my opinion, I think Madden 17 looks a little better than Madden 16 graphically speaking, but that's just me.

You aren't going to see a graphical improvement until Madden goes to Frostbite.

As long as the game continues to animate as poorly as it does the graphics won't matter. Player movement, momentum and explosiveness is so poorly represented that it's impossible to focus on visual fidelity without noticing when everything starts moving. I still believe it's not a "Madden" thing but an EA thing...Live and NHL have that same twitchy, wonky movement and IMO it's because EA has always focused on player responsiveness and "on a dime" movement at the expense of accurately representing or simulating how an athlete moves on a court/field/hockey rink.

In some videos it seems that the lighting is better; but that could just be an illusion.

Lighting and colors are better, equipment helps.

which is a good thing ( at least i think it is )

graphics have come so far that improvements are barely noticeable now

^ that first screenshot is actually from Madden 2006

its around 05-06 when the ps2 games reached their graphical plataeu anyway. im sure he means the graphics improvements from madden 02 to 03, or 03 to 04 for example (which were very substantial).

Yeah, 2004 had the super bulky, wide shoulder pads. They looked so much better in 05 and beyond.

I thought Madden 25 on Xb1 and PS4 wasn't a good looking game. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
