Re: How many mins you guys play per quarter and why?
10 minutes, 12 minutes are always too high scores for me but 10 seems to get it right in that 90-110 area I likeComment

Whatever I feel like at the time, because it's just a pointless video game with numbers in a screen. It thing that matters is having fun, and looking at numbers after an hour and a half game isn't what's up.Comment

Re: How many mins you guys play per quarter and why?
12 min, because... well, these are the rules, right?
First that's the only way for me to get coherent stats, then I feel that the development of a game is more interesting. You really feel the 4th quarter pressure on tight games when you already spent 36 min fighting for it.
Usually I play one game (approx. 1h) and I'm done for the day.Comment

Re: How many mins you guys play per quarter and why?
I play 12 minutes. I like realistic stats and strategy. I've played people that play on 2-4 minutes and I thought they were weird. None of the players got tired of course and I've asked them why play on short minutes when they don't in real life? Their excuse was that it takes too long. Some people these days have the attention span of a 3 year old. Everyone plays differently though and I just have to accept it.Comment

I play 12 minute quarters. After you get conditioned to playing that many minutes you get quite used to it. Obviously how much time you have available is a factor.
Awhile back I wrote up nine reasons you should consider playing 12 minute quarters. They were:
1. Realism
2. Fatigue is a factor
3. Learn to use your bench
4. Have to deal with foul trouble
5. Free throws affect the game more
6. You have to learn to fight off a team that makes a run or scoring droughts
7. More time to study your opponents tendencies so you can adjust
8. More in game practice
9. More overall strategy

Re: How many mins you guys play per quarter and why?
6 min quarters. I still use my bench plenty, don't mass substitute much at all. It's half a real game and while a longer game can lead to different outcomes essentially you can just double stats to get an idea what they could've been. I prefer to get through more seasons and experience free agency, draft, see how teams evolve or change etc.. 6 minutes is just long enough to feel like a real NBA experience for me. Plus I don't always have 2 hours to devote to a single game and not a fan of saving mid game. I haven't done that in years.Student of the game. #Fundamentals

Exactly this. With it aswell every win feels all the more satisfying. i just played out a thriller in Game 2 of my new myleague winning at the spurs by 3 after they missed a beat the buzzer 3 pointer to tie and i feel so drainned after it.Comment

Re: How many mins you guys play per quarter and why?
I have been going back and forth with the 12 min or 6 min qtrs. On 12 mins I feel like I get real game, but with limited time I only play a few games each season then select playoff games.
On 6 mins I try to play more regular season games then play every playoff game. While I get more games in I do feel like the overall play is not equal to 12 mins.Relax, it's just a video game!Comment

Re: How many mins you guys play per quarter and why?
I only play 12 minutes. 2k did a good job on game pace and the game plays realistically at 12 minutes. I am surprised by the amount of guys who don't like 12 minute quarters. I would guess that most of the 12 min guys are offline players. I am a 95 percent online player, but it is very rare to find guys who like basketball enough to play 12 minute quarters.
My user name is Alabamarob. I am on xbox and ps4 if any of you 12 minute quarter guys ever want a game.Psn: Alabamarob

Youtube: 2k Hawks
Settings I play on.

Re: How many mins you guys play per quarter and why?
11 minutes.
The only reason I play on 11 oppose to 12 minutes is because stats seem to inflate at the 12 minute mark for me. At eleven minutes I still get the full effect of a NBA game that Coach2k mentioned just without scores consistently over 100.Comment
