How will the sale of the UFC to the new owners affect EA UFC 3?
There has always been speculation that the current owners of the UFC wants full control of the decision of the fighter ratings, Also numerous other things. I just wonder what type of things can the devs do now compared to before the sell?
Or does this sell mean the end of this game series??Last edited by Trillz; 07-12-2016, 01:30 PM.Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/user/im2good4u1

Hopefully they'll let EA have equal or *more* say in future games
The franchise has some momentum now --- the next game will make or break the entire future of EA UFC --- let's hope new owners either let it be; or better yet; double the resources available for UFC 3PSN: Boiler569

The resources would likely be determined by this game's sales still. They know this is a niche market. UFC 2 sold much better, but is still not producing like it had. Could be though. Don't know the figures. Just know Undisputed 3 was the best game, and worst sales for the THQ franchise.@bikingforjesus on InstagramComment

My hope is that the new owners wont care about things like attributes or player editing. Hopefully it will be like any other game and we can edit everything.Comment

Just read an old article that said THQ had to sell 2,000,000 copies of UFC 3 just to break even on it. Yikes!@bikingforjesus on InstagramComment

We can likely assume close to 2,000,000 then because digital sales are almost half now. VG doesn't get those stats. Only EA, Zuffa, and their shareholders know the sales likely. I wonder how profitable it is, and if the sale isn't a way for EA to get out. They likely have a profit margin it must make to keep it going. Especially if they only had a two game mandatory deal. We don't know the details. This sale actually kind of worries me.@bikingforjesus on InstagramComment

Unlikely. Gary Goodridge had said he would do it for free. They likely paid him though. Pride Mode alone though could have been why it was so high for breaking even. Still though, these games don't seem to be cash cows.@bikingforjesus on InstagramComment

Thats not true for Pride. THQ wouldve hard to pay fighters that appeared in UFC 3 and were not currently under UFC/Zuffa contract. That includes:
Randleman
Herring
Frye
Goodridge
Yvel
Sapp
Severn
Soko
Baroni
Ninja Rua
Nakamura
Gracie
Gono
Kang
Filho
Newton
