SkyTrak and The Golf Club
Affordable in home golf simulation for less than $3k. SkyTrak costs about $2k and used for around $1500. The Golf Club game license costs $500/year or $1k for a life time membership. A good hitting mat, net and projector can be found for $500-$1000 total, depending on quality.

Re: SkyTrak and The Golf Club
I would absolutely love to have this in my basement.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Re: SkyTrak and The Golf Club
Man - that would be awesome. It'd be better if my basement wasn't so small, I'd have to swing like this:

Re: SkyTrak and The Golf Club
For golf nuts that live in climates where it can snow 4-6 months of the year, it probably makes more sense. In that sense, it's more than "a video game using real clubs" and more of a way to practice, which is what I think the system is designed for.PSN: JWGoNDComment

Re: SkyTrak and The Golf Club
When I watch the videos of these simulators in action, I always wonder if it wouldn't be a little off-putting to have the ball's flight be shown so long after you've hit the shot. It always seems like there's like a two or three second pause between the time the ball impacts the "screen" and the time the software actually paints the flight of the ball. For those of you who have played this, is that not a bit of a buzzkill for that delay to occur?Duke Football? Hell yes it's Duke Football! --- Coach CutcliffeComment

And, given that golf isn't really an "action" sport, it's not like that delay is hurting your performance. Definitely would take a while to get used to and/or would be really annoying though.PSN: JWGoNDComment

Re: SkyTrak and The Golf Club
With most golf simulators running 10’s of thousands of dollars SkyTrak really is an affordable option. That doesn’t mean that everyone can afford one, but it does fill a niche that was previously missing. Now the average golfer can have an indoor golf simulator.
At just under $2,000 (based on prices at shopindoorgolf.com/products/skytrak-golf-launch-monitor) it is affordable without sacrificing on accuracy.
The thing I like about SkyTrak is the ball measurement data that it tracks. It’s helped my understand why I hit the way I do, and it’s helped me improve my swing quite a bit as well.
I used to always hit in the high 80’s and now I’m consistently hitting in the mid to high 70’s.
Plus when there’s three feet of snow outside in the winters my buddies and I can keep on competing and drink beers! We keep our competition going year round since I got my simulator.Comment
