Great players you just can't use well

I'm sure we've all got them, players who are clearly brilliant, yet you cannot hit or pitch with them to save your life.

For me, Chris Sale is hopeless, just constantly gets hit for home runs and falls apart, same for Yu Darvish who seems fine until a monster inning comes along and it's game over.

As for hitters, Barry Bonds is massively underwhelming for me, he just doesn't get under the ball when he middles it, everything is a line drive or a weak grounder. He's been hitting for a decent average with doubles, but he's not leaving the park in the way I really hoped he would. Buster Posey has completely out-slugged him while I've been grinding Giants innings, hitting about three times as many homers despite having 30 less power. Even Lorenzo Cain and his mid 50's power has completely out classed Barry.

Corey Seager as well just isn't doing it for me, which is a shame as on paper he looks a very useful hitter against both handed pitchers, but he's just not getting it done. FB Matt Holiday as well was utterly hopeless for me, but I possibly didn't give him long enough to make amends.

Who do you have who just doesn't live up to their ratings?

I too bought seager in hopes that his great stats would translate. 5 games later I sold him for a small profit because he did not do anything for me.

I thought I would rake with him when there were bronze/silver guys in my lineup hitting much much better than he was.

5 games isn't enough to get a feel for a player. It takes longer than that to get used to most guys stance/swing.

Josh Donaldson. My first Diamond pull so I gave him every chance in the world. In 62 games with him, got him batting .088 2 HR 6 RBI. LOL

Seager is like the best hitter for me, I suck with Cespedes

Yeah, it's interesting how we're all different. I've been using Seager for a while because I was working on Dodger innings. He absolutely rakes for me, I don't want to stop using him.

Rizzo for me. Hitting .250 with him whichever isn't the worst but hitting with him is such a task , nothing but ground outs.

Kris Bryant. I got him as a post game loot drop back in April. After 3 months of sub .600 OPS and leading my squad in Ks I sold him shortly after he went diamond for roughly 22k. Using those stubs I added Cueto and Cano to my roster. Cano got off to a slow start for me, but is starting to come along. Cueto has been lights out for me.

I'm not saying this is what everybody else does, but when I have a guy that is a great hitter ratings-wise, I tend to go up there hackin'. I'm not as patient, waiting for a good pitch to hit.

Seager is great for me and so is Cespedes so it is just a matter of each person, there tendencies, timing ect.
