Good arguments, I reckon now the one point difference in the players is justified inside the ratings scheme. As Price said, wish there was a bit more clarity as far as how things are rated, but some things are also so subjective that we just have to hope for consistency in the method used.

Re: Madden NFL 17 Player Ratings - Top 5 Wide Receivers
Tbh if athletes peak at say 25 sprinting wise , I'd say AJ should still have a a slight edge in SPD or ACC but itwould be marginal at best .Right.
If Hopkins was a 4.57 at 21 and Green was a 4.50 at 21, then at 24 and 28, respectively, it's safe to assume that Hopkins is about as fast, if not slightly faster, than Green. They'll never race to find out, and I think it's probably unreasonable to expect that one person will be able to update the speed for every single player during one off-season via film (whether they should be using one person to do ratings is another discussion entirely), so this is the best we have. It's not perfect, and some of the methodology could be clearer, but it is what it is.
I'd say speed regression due to age is overdone since 16 still , barring injury its not much of a factor until nearer 30 and then should slowly declineArguing with idiots is like playing chess with a pigeon .... No matter how good you are , the bird is going to **** on the board and strut around like it won anyway .Comment

Afaik there's no data to back that up.

I thought she just worked on live but regardless you could have a 10 person staff doing ratings and maybe have enough.

It shouldn't be purely based on 40 time. 40 time has lot more to do with acceleration than speedComment

Receiver should lose speed depending on age, injury type, and combination of both.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 17 Player Ratings - Top 5 Wide Receivers
There is data available via Google for track athletes , sorry can't provide a link as I'm using my PS and I'm an old technophobe , how that translates to WRs is up for debate
I also seem to remember Dan from FBG saying he'd seen team data regarding James Jones from GB in an old thread that showed no significant speed regression until his last season
Not really disagreeing over your opinion , more it's a matter of degree tbh , it's obvious all athletes do decline , probably from around 25 onwards , but I believe recent Madden ratings have over done that
Having said that even applying a totally accurate regression arc universally wouldn't account for players individual situations , just provide a guide, so this type of discussion will never really go awayArguing with idiots is like playing chess with a pigeon ....
