Just finished New Mexico, the MWC is officially done just need to go over teams again to make sure they're accurate as possible. Tag is wargasm0528.Update airforce and Boise again. Need players numbers changed for new mexico. Rb Mcquarterly to 3. RE saltes to 50. De siltz to 65. LB carson to 2. LB eating to 18. LB chimera to 89. CB brown to 4. CB barn well to 10. I ORIGINALLY DID THEM AND THEY WERE MY FIRST TEAM I EVER DID. SO I DECIDED LET ME TAKE A LOOK AT THEM AGAIN. MAN WAS I WAY OFF THE 1ST TIME BUT THAT WAS WITH NO RESEARCH. SO FIXED THEM AND THEY ARE nOW MUCH MORE REALISTIC. Cajun...this thread is getting a bit messy. Would it be better if people PMd you with their updates? It would be great to get back to finishing the teams up and keep the edits elsewhere. I will be back tonight and I will grab S Alabama.

The problems with PMs is the limited amount of storage and it fills up quickly.

@Cajun. When you simmed season with Charlotte were you able to go into the second season and start a game without any issues?

Yes. Even simmed a second season just fine.

coaches poll are more a reflection of what coaches they respect more than a true indication of the teams.

they were very predictable. ohio st is vastly over-rated, but coach urban is getting the benefit of the doubt because he has championships.

they had a lesser offense than LSU, and very similar defense. i actually when over the numbers per game, because LSU had one less game due to cancellation.

LSU 257 rushing ypg
Ohio St 245.2 rushing ypg

LSU 181 passing ypg
Ohio St 188.8 passing ypg

Total offense
LSU 437 ypg
Ohio St 434 ypg

Using ypg because LSU had one less game.

Very similar offensive teams
The thing is though, Ohio St lost some top talent
and only returns 3 starters on offense

LSU on the other hand returns its top talent
Returns 8-9 starters on offense, including 2 sophomore linemen who were Freshman All-Americans. They should only get better with experience and strength.

Defensively 2015

LSU rushing D 122.9 ypg
Ohio St rushing D 126.8 ypg

LSU total D 347 ypg
OSU total D 310 ypg

Again very similar teams a season ago..

However, Ohio St loses serious talent on the defensive side and only returns 3 starters here as well. Overcoming inexperience on the defensive side in college football is even more challenging!

LSU returns all their top talent. Another 8-9 starters on the defense as well as upgrades its DC tremendously.

But it's a respect factor with the coaches and Urban is getting the benefit of doubt. I still don't see justifying it when it's two very similar teams a season ago, and two drastically different teams heading into this season.. being they are having to replace that many players.. That's a ton..

i agree with the first four teams, but not ohio st.. it isn't reflective of how good their team should be on a video game this season.

i would also wait for other polls.. than a select few coaches, many of who are from these teams. it's not a coaches poll of all the coaches.. they also went the easy way of voting. they just pick the top teams a season ago.. which is fine. alabama deserves to be number 1 because saban always has them competing.. even when they don't appear to be as good.. but again, being highly ranked from coaches is more a respect to the coaching than the actual team.

my only complaint was ohio st though, and from what i have seen.. many writer's have said the same. many many articles already posted about it.

the cool thing is out of the top 6.. we get top matchups.
FSU plays Clemson
LSU plays Alabama
Oklahoma plays Ohio St in week 3!

Man I cringe when I see Barrett, Rosen and Ward at 95 overall. I see Ward as a 92, Barrett and Rosen at 87. I don't have a problem with you guys rating them that because I'll go change them on my file like I always do with players on other rosters.

Yes, I'm getting pretty tired of the ratings complaints.

I look at the PS3 rosters thread and no one complains about the ratings.. at least not that I could see as active.. and they are just appreciative of the editors.

I think it may have been a mistake to make it an open free for all. It's my fault though. I am not as organized as them, but they have more experience here. And I do still value the people's input. Very much so!

They put a ton of research into it and are insanely organized.. but they have some really different ratings. Some I agree with, some I don't..

This is why I always wanted to assess ratings last, but now I regret even saying that. Looking over their teams today on the PS3, they just rate the players how they feel and don't care how the overall team ratings look. That just falls however it falls..

Also, overall team ratings are just an indication of the starters.. it's not a reflection of the actual overall team FWIW. If you change out a starter with a lesser rating then the overall teams ratings completely changes.. so it's not really an indication of the type of team.. more so just the type of talent that are starting.. A team could actually have an accurate depth chart and be lesser ranked.. but if you go back into their depth chart and put suggested guys who are higher rated for that position.. then their ratings will be higher when you go back to the menu screen..

Some of our ratings are different than theirs, however our ratings are consistent to our rosters in my honest opinion.

Just off LSU, the PS3 guys have both LSU stud receivers in the top 7 wide receiver rankings.. I think one is a 97 and another 93 or so, but yet we have a guy who wanted them both at 87. We have different standards or bases of thinking. One guy may rate on projection and abilities, while another guy may simply just rate on overall production.. even if it was done in a lesser conference. There so many variables here.

This is like a contest based on judges.. which is always going to be an opinion. It is impossible to please everyone. We all see things so vastly different.. but the complaints over the ratings have gotten ridiculous.. and I don't believe anyone is complaining in their thread.. not to this extent or attitude.. It's becoming overwhelming. I think it's best going forward to have a certain set of editors and just respect their research.. it's fine to bring something to our attention and we look at and possibly adjust.. but I don't think we should be complaining or some people should be demanding.

I appreciate when the admin/mod previously addressed these types of complaints. I want to continue fixating on getting the teams just completed. That is still my main focus. I plan to make as many of the edits/adds mentioned today as possible. I still encourage people to continue to modify their teams and get them to me to add.. but I really am over the ratings things. I don't want to make many more changes when it comes to that. Once I get rosters completed I want to enter in the formula for all the recent recruits.. so that part will be 100% fair. Again, I just want to get all the teams completely finished.. Correct players, correct details, star players, possible team captains, etc.. and I will be so thrilled.

Guys this is coming along nicely, but I'm really over the stuff about ratings. It's never going to perfect. I think we have done a dang good job though. This is exciting. Let's kumbaya together.

Just downloaded a more updated version of the roster. As I agree with the reason for moving 2 players to FB for spread teams I don't feel the best decision was made for ND.

TE Alize Jones (was gonna be the main piece of the offense this year) should stay at TE and TE Tyler Luatua should move to FB.

RB Tony Jones Jr. (FR) is now at FB, but should switch back to HB and put HB Justin Brent as the other FB.

Hey Fellas and Cajun,

I started to work on Cal's roster the defense is a mess. A lot of old players and transfers still on there. I've got the linebackers and most of the secondary corrected with proper names, equipment and ratings. I'll finish up the roster hopefully by this evening if not tomorrow. Can't miss Suicide Squade later!

Not trying to say you didn't but there's dudes on the roster that aren't even on the depth chart. Hardy Nickerson transferred to Illinois, Michael Barton to Arizona. There is two linebackers who aren't even on the roster, same thing with a few DB's not to mention hometowns, heights and even numbers that aren't duplicates are wrong. I live in Antioch, CA which is not far from Berkley I'm gonna update it to what it should be sorry bro just do the work right to get the most accurate rosters for everyone!

Unless someone else changed it or Cajun took another person's Cal, I can guarantee I didn't put Nickerson on my original file. Someone may have went back and added him. To those who are new or updating, be sure to check the official team websites as they do make updates based on transfers, suspensions, etc. Ourlads is not always the best for depth charts. Phil Steele or team site is more accurate although even Phil Steele included players not on some teams so I excluded them because though they be starting in his magazine, the website did not include certain players, some which I researched and found that they were kicked off team or transferred. My players came directly from team websites and ESPN insider recruiting For the teams I completed unless they were a recruit if they weren't on the official team roster as of the time I started that team (i didn't start any until July 5th) then I did not include them. Too many cooks in the kitchen I think. Thanks for your assistance by the way in alerting of such mistakes and I respect your efforts double checking and completing teams. Be sure to double check that the file you are checking is the most up to date. Stay blessed fam.
