Good stuff. Hopefully this can pave the way for custom packages as well because IMO that would be a lot better. Only worry I have is how it's handled game-to-game. I was planning on doing a 32-team CFM already and this further incentivizes that I just hope the menu's aren't still so painfully slow.

    And story mode, ugh...

Hopefully we can do formation subs for ranked games as well?

I like seeing Michael Hoag talk about knowing that Special Teams teams still needs a lot of work, and seeing Rex nod in agreement.

I think that John White is right, he doesn't actually say it, but a lot of CFM folks are sleeping on Gameplanning this year. It has excellent functionality now.

People who don't like Beyond Broadcast presentation, sorry, it's clearly a core part of their design philosophy.
I saw that no penalties online rankes and was disappointed at the very least make a room where you can.

I think the game planning is gonna pay dividends in online CFM users it will make people play a little more honest..

Special teams blocking is a must setting up the blocks, breaking the block on kickoffs, punt return blocking and returns all need redone I hope they can pull it off for 18 maybe Frostbite might help, but looking forward to 17 for sure[emoji482]

I think that may fall into the "balancing issue" territory for online ranked.

John White very clearly indicated in the interview that formation subs are specific to franchise mode.

Thrilled it's added back this year. It is about time that a basic feature like this was added back. Should never have been removed.

With full player editing and formation subs, I'll probably purchase M17.

I don't understand how it wouldn't be balanced? Everyone is afforded the same luxury of being able to customize pre-game. Not to mention it's painstakingly annoying to have to sub the same safety or linebacker every single game.

I like it. I'm glad it's back in the game. Now, if only we could have madden on pc lol.

                            This is great news, folks.

All one needs to do is listen for the hints the development team gives in June or throughout the year.

Clint mentioned with continuous improvement formation subs and defensive matchups were items the community wanted the most.

He didn't promise anything, but appeared hopeful.

Is defensive matchups down the short road?

From the way that they talk about the issue my feeling is that the implementation and then the QA for defensive matchups is a very, very large time investment, and something that is at risk for breaking things on the gameplay front, so I would be surprised to see in M17.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

FINALLY!!!! WE FINALLY GET FORMATION SUBS!!!!!!!! I was just talking about this with a buddy of mine the other day too! Wow!

I'm definitely not liking that they want to add a story mode to Madden! It just doesn't work for sports games! Look at 2K16! Why can't they just make career mode how it was in the old Maddens? Where we were able to do interviews, I.Q. tests, pre-draft workouts, movie roles, hire agents, etc??? NO STORY MODE!!! Career modes should be open ended! We should be the ones who decide how OUR careers play out, not the script!
