Madden 17 Classic Rosters Thread

It's that time of the year again. The calm before the storm. None of us with the actual game, just plans and ideas, outlines and graphs, spreadsheets and crib notes, of what classic roster project we want to tackle.

Last year we saw several incredible rosters on an EXTREMELY limiting game. My two favorite were iteachpercussion's 1999 and 1986. This year, roster editing will be opened up a bit, the legend (Playmakers) is getting back into the game, and hopefully will bring more into the fold.

So lets talk about what rosters were planning on making so we can all get an idea, hopefully not end up doing duplicates, and if we aren't making them, reply with what year you'd most like to see.

This is a good idea....

I would suggest listing the system these rosters will be for because it seems like past 3 years most rosters were only available for download on PS4

Rosters should be a little quicker this year than previous years because of editing being opened up more for the players.

I myself will be on XBOX One only

Before committing to anything I want to see what the editor will allow us to do, and not do, in creating/editing current players outside of CFM.

I plan on making 1975 on PS4.

I am also planning on 1993 for PS4. This roster is a little more up in the air, but that is the current plan.

Of course all things are tentative until I get my hands on the game and see what the editing options are and how the game plays.

Madden 17 really seems to be bringing alot of retro roster makers to the table. Hopefully it lives up to expectations.

So excited for this years classic rosters! xlatinoheatx, since you're putting together a roster database, I wonder if you may have some rosters I've been looking for. Madden 07, 08, 09, 10, and 11 final PS3 rosters. A database is a great idea.

By the way, iteachpercussion, love your roster work.

91 Falcons not 98 Falcons. Downside you will have two Brett Farve in your rosters,upside everything else. Like on your chalk board message, Cowboys & Niners have non Deion Super Bowl Champion season,so us Falcons fans appreciate those 6-10,10-6,6-10 team more then that 98 Super Bowl team. I looked at 92 Falcons but Drew Hill messes up the Oilers team if you went with that year and 90 Falcons didn't have Tim Mckyer, and us Falcons fan love Timmy Mack. I am sure the Joe Montana Niners won a title without Tim McKyer to avoid his duplicate. Good luck with your quest on these rosters,we all appreciate it. And if you go with 98 I am down with that as well. Please no Vick year even though a phantom holding call on the Falcons took the chance for the Eagles to choke away another trip to the Super Bowl. I know he said 90s but Playmaker listens so hopefully nobody gets him to make 2000s teams. Thanks again Playmakers & crossing fingers EA does not ruin your rosters inside CFM until after the 1st year of course

I plan on making 1975 on PS4.

I can't wait for the 1975 one will these be able to be used in cfm or are these just for play now

Great news:

I've been in talks with some of the great classic roster makers from years past, that have been in retirement, and some have been receptive about returning to make rosters for M17! I haven't listed them officially yet, however.

It could happen on M17. Until then, this roster is available for M25 on PS3 sir.

Now that a full in-game player editor is back I might port over the 1994-1998 rosters I built for PC.

But without an external roster/db editor, that will be one brutal undertaking.

Roughly 2000 players per roster, including FA's. Then 350 or so per draft class, including UDFA's.

... brutal! But, it might be time.

If I could port rosters over year-to-year as with MLB, this would be a no brainer.

I don't have my Madden 25 or PS3 anymore now I wish I did, I hope someone does a 2002 because I know I'd be greatly appreciative and I'm pretty sure that there would be others appreciative as well
