My Jags are getting no love!!

Let me start by saying I am a lifelong Jaguars fan but I am also very realistic about my team/players. I must say I do have some optimism this year after the draft of two studs (Ramsey & Myles Jack) and a big free agency year to help the defense.

However, EA is really underrating some of the players that showed great talent last year.

Allen Robinson is an 88 overall. His 2015 stats:
    <table width="100%" class="data-table1" id="yui_3_10_3_2_1470931909966_1534" summary="Career Stats For Allen Robinson"><tbody id="yui_3_10_3_2_1470931909966_1533"><tr id="yui_3_10_3_2_1470931909966_1532"><td id="yui_3_10_3_2_1470931909966_1549">80 REC</td><td>1,400 YDS</td><td>17.5 AVG</td><td></td><td>14 TDS
    </td></tr></tbody></table>
Now if he was on Dallas/NE/Pitt any big team he would be a mid 90's rated player with those stats.

I can make the case for many other players, see: Bortles, Hurns, Telvin Smith, etc...

I am not saying the Jags should be a great team but at least rate the great, young players fairly.

    Thoughts?

What ever u do don't compare them to Cowboys people loose their minds, but ratings were toned down and yall got the best rated rookie in the game. Plus it's not the ovr as much as its the attributes that make the player

I think we need a better understanding of the new way they did the ratings this year before we make any conclusions on overrated/underrated.

It could be that an 88 this year is a 94 last year

Yeah Robinson is good but not a top 10 wr imo.

I'm very fond of the Jaguars, and I'm a big fan of Robinson's ability but I think it's fair given Hurns and Robinson broke out last season and have only done it over a single season (Hurns has had impressive numbers for two season though versus expectation, to be fair).

If Robinson puts up 1,300+ again this season and Hurns breaks 1000 again, I expect to see them high 80's and low-mid 90's each perhaps.

I'm a massive fan of Telvin Smith too. What was his rating for Madden 17?

These are the WRs ahead of him:

Antonio Brown, Julio Jones, Odell Beckham JR, AJ Green, Deandre Hopkins, Larry Fitzgerald, Alshon Jeffrey, Dez Bryant, Doug Baldwin, Julian Edelman, T.Y. Hilton, Brandon Marshall, and Jordy Nelson.

Out of that list I don't see any WR I for sure would take Robinson over.

As I tell other people, it's not just the numbers and the season that someone had. It's also about individual rankings. When you go to EA's ratings page, don't select a team, just select WR and filter it. You'll get a chance to see who's ahead of Robinson. The big question then is do you think Robinson should be ahead of any of those guys? Then it's a matter of comparing him skill for skill with those in front of him. I don't always agree with the ratings, but I can see why they are the way they are.

with the new ratings system, 88 is pretty elite. thats enough to be top 5 at other positions. there just happens to be soo many good WRs.

I think you can start making arguments when you get to Baldwin & Edelman, maaaaybe TY. I'd still probably take Marshall based on last season. Anyone from the first 8 names (AB thru Dez) is a pretty tough sell.

Yeah, not seeing an issue with 88.....that's pretty high on the new ratings scale.

I follow Jacksonville very closely so I know everyone may not be aware of what they're doing but if you think Allen Robinson is okay at an 88 with those stats then that is fine. I would ask about these then as a follow up:

Blake Bortles 82 overall - Kirk Cousins is higher (LOL) Bortles had more yds and 6 more TD's

                      TDS

                      RTG
                      88.2

Telvin Smith 80 overall - Maybe the most athletic LB in the league and great in coverage

I agree with this regarding the Jags.

With my Chargers, team wise I knew they wouldn't be top 10. But I believe they have some of the better players are certain positons.

Verrett is 13th ovr CB and tied with 3 others at 88 OVR. I think thats a fair spot considering whose ahead of him (Talib, Trufant, Slay are 90s)

K Allen is also 88 OVR and in the same boat as Robinson. The only person I think Allen should be ahead of is Edelman and Golden Tate. The top 10 WRs are the truth.

Your post seems to suggest an abstract view rather than a contextual one. 88 within the context of what we are dealing with here is very high. I'm not sure what more could be desired. All of the ratings that matter for the position barring release are 90 or above. What more do could anyone want? This is a beast WR in Madden. Let's take one of the guys above him. Compared to Edleman, who, I'm more mehhh on but anyway, Robinson has much higher Spec Tac catch, a higher release, and he's just a faster WR. So while Edleman is higher ovr, Robinson actually could be a better WR depending on how you play. Edleman's route running, catch and CIT are higher, but not by too much.

In comparison to Tate, Robinson has a higher CIT, Spec Tac, he's slightly faster, and he has a higher release. OVR is one thing, but looking at the individual attributes is important IMO, especially for play style and use.

I would probably to if I were Jags fan. That's the point, though. Those guys are debatable.

Except for Alshon Jeffrey. If you'd take Robinson over a healthy Alshon Jeffrey you're crazy.
