EA Sports has announced another official video game partner, this time it's Manchester United. Quite a few screenshots of updated player faces included.

This is just getting stupid. First these companies buy rights to have exclusive leagues and now are buying rights to certain teams. What happened to competition in the marketplace
Ravens * Canucks * Blue Jays * UCLA

So... maybe you guys can clarify, does this mean that Manchester United, Juventus etc won't be available in PES ?!

It's NOT about rights... Or if teams will appear...

It's about Exclusive "official game partners" just meaning Manchester United will promote the game and feature prominently....

In this case they are featured in the new story mode and have FIFA all over their website.

              It's just all marketing nonsense.

They will still be in PES

It depends on the team and the league they are in...

Man Utd will be in PES but will not be licensed this year. There is some significance as they have been the consistently licensed English team for many years now. As Konami can only license 2 teams from the Premier League it will be Arsenal & someone else.

As has been said many times, the German League is even more strict, Konami can feature 1 licensed team from the Bundesliga and 0 unlicensed teams.

There is no exclusivity with the Italian, Spanish, French & Dutch etc leagues so all teams from those leagues will be licensed in both games. The deals that EA & Konami are making with teams from those leagues will restrict things like stadiums for said teams in the other game...

Exclusive licensing is EA"s standard operating procedure. At least it never worked for the NBA. Choice and competition is good, so it is so sad what has happened to sports games in the last ten years, just as they get even more life-like, with almost unlimited possibilities for immersion. It's even lamer when you see EA just drop the EURO license so that Konami could do such a poor job replicating that tournament and then they spend the money to block Bayern, Juve and ManU from being in PES. It's like a cold war arms race and it's gross.
