You need to load this "no header" file with Madden DB Editor v3.0 and export the PLAY table to csv. It did not work for me with Madden DB editor v2.0 by the way.

When you finish editing your csv file, import it back to your "no header" sav file with Madden DB editor. Finally, you need to insert again the removed header and transfer it to your PS Vita.

    Hope this helps.
Thanks. I used this and an updated ps3 Madden 12 file to create a 2016 roster for the vita. You'll need to automaticaly reorder the depth chart for every team but it works. BLUS12345-ROSTER-AUG15_161858.rar

If you are referring to the file I posted then you don't need to add the header back as I already did. To transfer it to your vita, you're going to need to follow the instructions in the link lorak has in post #111. Once you get Molecular Shell running press the select button. The IP that is listed there will have to be imputed into a FTP program (like FileZilla). Then type "savedata0:" and replace the roster file in there with the one I provided.

So excited about this, but the only thing is whether or not it will work with hard copies.

Re: Madden PSP & Vita Rosters, Franchises Updates, Mods & Tutorials

Attached is an updated (for the 2016 NFL season) franchise game save for Madden NFL 13 PS Vita version. Rosters are based on week 1 updated rosters for Madden NFL 12 for PS3 kindly supplied by PeoplesChampGB from this post. You will find a Rams team relocated to Los Angeles. <strike>Coaches and playbooks are not updated.</strike> EDIT: Now the attached file includes updated coaches too. I have attached one file to start already in week 1 of the 2016 regular season.

In order to control your team, follow the same steps as before (remove the header with an hex editor, edit it with Madden DB editor v3.0 or edit the exported csv files, see below and paste the header back again).

            EDIT
: To take control of your team, you need to edit four tables, the DEID, OWNR, STTM and COCH tables. Let's first start with the OWNR table. Modify the OWNR table of the attached file you prefer (preseason or regular season) as in the example of the picture below. In this picture, columns/values marked with red lines indicate mandatory changes, those marked with green lines are optional. This example shows the correspondent changes you need to apply to the OWNR table to take control of the Seahawks (TGID=28) only. The game crashed when I tried to take control of all 32 teams. The following columns are optional (see the picture), edit them if you want to control other aspects of your franchise for your team as described below.

            CFDA,"Coach Management Draft Player = 0=user; 1=CPU".
            CFFA,"Coach Management Sign Free Agents = 0=user; 1=CPU".
            CFDP,"Coach Management Sign Draft Picks = 0=user; 1=CPU".
            CFRP,"Coach Management Re-sign Players = 0=user; 1=CPU".
            CFFR,"Coach Management Fill Rosters = 0=user; 1=CPU".
            CFRR,"Coach Management Depth Chart = 0=user; 1=CPU".
            Spoiler

Now we proceed to edit the COCH table. Find the head coach of your team and get his CCID
(coach Id) value, we will use it later. Modify the CFUC column for your head coach in the following way:

            CFUC,"Coach Control = 1=user; 0=CPU".

We will edit the DEID table. Here just change the values of the TGID (team Id) and CCID (coach Id) columns in Madden DB editor to take control of your team. Change the TGID value according to the table below. We recall from the previous step that all the CCID values are in the COCH table. Search for the head coach of your team over there and copy his CCID value in the DEID table. There are 198 coaches in the COCH table.

To finish, in STTM table just set to 1 the CFUC column corresponding to your team an set 0 otherwise.

In summary, the attached files are both set to the following values:
            • OWNR table, look for the value 12 (Dolphins) in the TGID column. Identify the correspondent row and check the important columns of that row set to OOSC = 0, CFUC=1. Change these values for the rows of the Dolphins and your team (TGID) accordingly. See the picture above.
            • COCH table, as the file is set to control the Dolphins, the head coach to look for is Adam Gase. Identify its row. The important columns are CCID=1 (we will need this value for the last step) and CFUC=1 for Adam Gase an 0 for everyone else. Edit the CFUC column according to your team choice.
            • DEID table, here the important values are set to TGID=12 (Dolphins) and CCID=1 (Adam Gase). Change them accordingly to your selected team. See the table below.
            • STTM table, in this case CFUC=1 for the Dolphins an 0 for everyone else. Edit the CFUC column according to your team choice

            Spoiler

I am not sure yet if it is possible to load the field art of a specific team in other stadiums, i.e., the Rams field art with the Jaguars stadium. The stadium info is in the STAD table as expected.

NOTE: You first need to save a franchise file at the start of the preseason or regular season, then you will replace your game save as explained in post #111 with the adequate (attached) file (rename the attached file as your franchise save or save your franchise file as PRESEA2016 or REGSEA2016 for preseason and regular season respectively).

I use a hard copy and it works fine. When game files become unencrypted and texture mods become a thing then a hard copy could be a disadvantage, but for now modded save files work the same.

Yes, indeed, you are able to challenge plays.
I have not focused on the converted rosters player skin tones and faces. I have not seen anything rare about it yet in the games I have played.

Ok finally figured out issues for Madden 08 on psp, here's my franchise file with current rosters and coaches and 2016-2017 schedule starting in week one. Also I changed the Rams to Los Angeles and their stadium also. Enjoy! (Still having issue with coaches upon further review, I attached a copy with everything except coach edits that seems to work)

As someone with very little knowledge about how files work i have tried following the instructions as clearly as possible but for some reason my DB editor will not work with them.
If someone could provide a visual aid on how to do it that would be amazing.
