Re: NBA 2K17 Trailer - Friction
Dwight Howard still has the Brock Lesnar haircut with Hulk calves when he has some of the thinnest legs in the league, especially for a big.
LeBron's calves are still too large.
Bosh has the KD/Ingram body type when his was already pretty accurate in 2k16.
Wade/DeAndre/DeMar still haven't been touched.
CP3 still has the completely wrong bodytype when there are a couple better suited for him (the average bodytype given to most players last year is a better fit for example)
MSG still has the wrong shade of blue (more likely than not Milwaukee is still too dark as well)
Reggie Jackson and Thaddeus Young still don't have updated hair.
Robin Lopez doesn't have his beard.
Andrew Bogut hair isn't updated.
Some chest logos on jerseys are still too small (Pacers, Lakers, etc.). Striping still isn't fixed on Pistons jerseys.
Color palette still appears washed out as well when it comes to unis and accessories.Last edited by lakers24; 08-22-2016, 12:43 PM.Comment

Re: NBA 2K17 Trailer - Friction
One other thing. I have been playing NBA video games since Lakers vs. Celtics and I never once looked at or cared about a player's calves. Never noticed it while playing a game.
Gaming is in a much different place now when we are complaining about this.Comment

Do you think maybe its possible for it to not be one extreme or the other? Perhaps the community wanted correct player models not skinny ones when we were complaining about them being too chunky?Comment

Re: NBA 2K17 Trailer - Friction
Last year the player models were too big, now they too skinny and yall complain about muscle definition. Obviously you'll never be happy.
Hell I remember playing Jordan vs Bird and Bulls vs Blazers and each arm was like two pixels. Maybe thats why im not so picky.
Only time the muscle definition stuff matters is in close up shots or replay...I (personally) hardly notice that stuff when I'm playing. I totally understand wanting to see greatness visually but some of you guys really take it too far.
The models look fantastic as compared to 2k16 that's a fact. Everything else is everything else and most likely going to be a WIP over the next few years.
But I played a game called Monday Night Football on SNES for probably 200+ hours and is probably the most memorable sports game for me. If I can enjoy a game that looks like that and play it as much as I did I can enjoy this.
Do I want the players to have definition and more player models? Of course. But I wouldn't even think about it for 99% of the time I'm in game.Comment

Re: NBA 2K17 Trailer - Friction
Remember how in NBA Live 2000 players would jump so high for blocks, they'd float through most of the rim and backboard?
Now fiends are sweating ankle sizes and having muscle rigs that flex and simulate the real thing.
They'll get on the devs for not having individual hair follicles on eyebrows before long.Comment

Re: NBA 2K17 Trailer - Friction
Everyone all the sudden became a physiology expert for a video game as if it really is that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things. (It's not...it really isn't). If it really ruins immersion for you (not you) then I'm sorry. They are obviously doing what they can in the yearly dev cycle to address the problems but I'm guessing its not as EASY as people here make it out to be.
I'd say just relax and play the game. Like seriously. Just relax and play the game...or don't.#SimnationComment

Re: NBA 2K17 Trailer - Friction
For example, some said Durant wasnt skinny enough last year. They made him skinnier this year and some think he's too skinny. Some disagree (I think he looks great).
I could understand if 2k made him 5'10 and he's really 7 feet. But we are talking about slight differences in body size. What you might think is correct may not fall in line with what everyone else thinks.Comment

Once upon a time, the idea of players with animating faces was a marvel.

i don't cosign the overly-hyped "player build" discussions. i don't think 2K necessarily ever gets them right either but i dont play FIFA to see if they get Messi 100% accurate either. But this thread is 20+ pages of hyped player build and art lolol. I play the entire game for an accurate portrayal of the sport(or as close as they can get within the confines of code). when they drop the gameplay, we'll get to the tale of the tape.
i do like that 2K is trying to add to the actual NBA experience with the halftime shows and such tho. appreciate that.Comment

Re: NBA 2K17 Trailer - Friction
Add muscle/definition to Westbrook's arms (which isn't hard to do), and nobody complains.
Stop giving these guys such thick calves/ankles, and you'll hear no more complaining about that either.
This is all stuff 2K COULD do, but choose not too. We aren't asking for things that are unachievable. These are things that should be correct if they just look at actual photos of these players.
It's kind of sad.Last edited by WISports; 08-22-2016, 12:52 PM.Comment

' bodies
So you're saying that these guys can't get players' bodies to look like the real life thing? I disagree.

Or what about the definition for the definition?Comment

So there is nothing wrong with saying "Damn, I was hoping they would get Howard's new haircut in."
But like anything people have to go further and describe some of the player faces and models as "horrendous" or claiming the devs dont try.Comment
