Almost every Rookie in the draft is UNDISIPLENED.
Like last years M16 almost every Rookie that comes out of the draft in M17, regardless of how good he is always has UNDISCIPLINED for his penalty rating, which Always causes additional penalties. I realize that you can edit this, which is nice because you can never earn enough points to change it. I was just wondering if this is by design or is it a bug.. it's hard to believe that every rookie is undisciplined. They can't all be that bad..When I do something right, No one ever remembers.

I could see it being by design if it's something that can be upgraded with XP but I don't know if that's the case or not. If it is, how much does it cost to purchase versus other traits/attributes?Last edited by DeuceDouglas; 08-22-2016, 08:34 PM. -
Re: Almost every Rookie in the draft is UNDISIPLENED.
Younger players commit more penalties than veterans... Just upgrade it if you want them to turn into more disciplined players as they age. Plenty of guys clean up their game over time just as they get better techniqueComment

Re: Almost every Rookie in the draft is UNDISIPLENED.
This is great news IMO. Now we have yet another thing to consider when saving XP for our rookies. Awr, some skill attribute or decreasing penalties.
Although it's been reported that gaining XP is easier this year, the undisciplined trait is good newsComment

I agree, sounds like the only logical move, undisciplined rookies.
Great news if infact true."Not the victory but the action. Not the goal but the game. In the deed the glory."Comment

The thing is though, they don't change over time. The entire leagues stays undisciplined. Sim ahead and see for yourself.@MikeLowe47 | YouTube | Discord

Re: Almost every Rookie in the draft is UNDISIPLENED.
That was my point. They never get better, in a 5 year sim, 5 year old rookies never became normal. Unless you personally increase them, The league is filled with undisciplined players. I understand that we or human owners can edit or progress them, But CPU teams are filled with them. So I am thinking this has to be a bug and it is exactly the same a last year. If they would increase or progress on there own, that would be a great feature, But they don't.When I do something right, No one ever remembers.

Re: Almost every Rookie in the draft is UNDISIPLENED.
I disagree.
Not every rookie comes into the league undisciplined.
And also while it may be a nice thing for the user to take into consideration, it is a problem for the AI. It should be an easy fix with a patch, but we already have guys saying that the AI never improves their players in that regard**
**On a sidenote, I'm not sure that every player who is undisciplined should be able to be upgraded to disciplined. That almost seems like something of a personality type trait.Comment

Re: Almost every Rookie in the draft is UNDISIPLENED.
Honestly I don't see this as a big deal.
But what I would do is this:
I'd make it so players would have a 10% chance of being disciplined, a 40% chance of being normal, and a 50% chance of being undisciplined. This way you'd get some guys who come into the league and are very smart about penalties, but it will be very rare. Most will still come into the league undisciplined, but this way it will create a bit more intrigue when drafting.PSN: Maserati_Bryan17Comment

Re: Almost every Rookie in the draft is UNDISIPLENED.
Last year, having progression set to weekly or even every four weeks kept a lot of traits from getting upgraded? Is it possible that is part of the issue? That was my point. I only made it through 1/2 of a CFM season last night, so I can't speak to the proportions of undisciplined rookies compared to actual nfl data http://www.nflpenalties.com/all-players.php?year=2015 but this weekend I'll get to it.
In practice not every (or even the majority) of rookies will be able to be upgraded based upon the rate of XP gain (another thing I'll have to plot out). But it's important to note OP said most but not all will be undisciplined. Which may track with nfl data. Couple that with the positions that tend to incur penalties and penalty frequency it may not be an "issue" for the AI.
I'll be able to speak in more detail after this weekendComment

Simming 10 years w development NOT set to weekly is a good idea to try...has anyone done so yet?@MikeLowe47 | YouTube | Discord
