Its good marketing towards the population that is into the my modes. But I would of rather had a demo to play 5 on 5 with regular teams. That part of the game is what I'm making my decision on whether to buy the game.

2K strikes again, they are so far ahead of other sports games that it is getting silly... my ONLY knock is that you can't wear #17 in college, all digits are 1-5... well that and my alma mater Ohio State isn't one of the teams, but I'm guessing that's on the school.

Not sure why I hadn't pre-ordered this yet, just I'll fix that now.

Just goin off the video provided, my man. So of course I may be wrong. From the looks of it though, it looks the same as past 2ks. Every Myplayer has that James Harden like build. Now, they didn't show the weight part of the player creation but if its anything like the past 2k's I doubt it's going to change the body appearance

I hate that stupid nickname too, hopefully it can be changed which I doubt LOL! I like the cutscenes though, maybe because I like storylines period. I feel give the whole experience, like why not have it to where you can budget money and buy a house and car atleast. I know I may get crucified for that but that makes for more of a story than the cutscenes IMO

I agree. The cutscenes are cool to have. But they could really let our MYplayer be OUR player, not "Prez" or "Freq" or whatever dumb nickname they will probably come up with for 2k18.

Yea I see no point in that especially when they have it set up to say your actual name in-game. Not a big deal for me tho, I'll get over it.

Man hate hate the story line cut scene garbage..just want to play and not have pretend movie stuff involved. kids **** imo.

I'm almost 35 and the cut scenes are the best part of the mode for me.

Nickname can be changed via settings but this is for "in game"

For those cutscenes there has to be 1 nickname to call "you-your player" because basically they cant just avoid it and say "hey MR" there has to be 1 name or nickname...

I'm almost 35 and the cut scenes are the best part of the mode for me.

To each his own. It's a main reason I avoid that mode like the plague. Not a great aspect of my ideal sports game. I only play sports games though, so story stuff doesn't impress me

That'd be cool. I'd play the cut-scene version once, then go to the non-cinematic story mode for anything else. I sort of miss the way the old gen MyCareer was, actually.

I thought it was pretty cool when it was just play as one guy and improve skills, signatures, etc. Or just create a player and put him on rosters. Create a legend was a good replacement when story mode took off. Now the whole game caters to your my player, park all that, you NEED a my player.. You can't get past the start up of the game sometimes because it's so confused why you won't make one.

It's frickin lame imo. I get kids are biggest consumers, but don't just dust the adults who love the game.. I'm actually surprised how little of the community nowadays main focus is even 5v5 head to head anymore. That was the thing. It used to be lobbies or ranked record. Play now in theory is cool, but it course they have to kid it up and call it play now online.

Preaching now though.

I get they need a name to insert but it's no different from programming it to say our real names like in-game but I imagine this would mess with the smoothness of the cut scenes

I know Ronnie said that weight matters this year but it's bizarre they didn't show that in the video. They could have easily answered a question people had. Why not prove it in the video?
