There are two schools of thought re: sliders, peripheral settings, and game play.
School 1: Only game play sliders affect game play.
School 2: Peripheral settings also affect game play.
Folks from School 1 argue that because developers have not confirmed the theory held by folks in School 2, School 1 is the more legitimate option.
This is a School 2 thread. In my experience on the boards, each person has to judge for him or herself whether he/she thinks there are any compelling reasons to entertain the School 2 perspective.
I only say that because there tends not to be much persuading across these positions. Folks tend to be one way or the other.
I'll say for myself that I've been a KingV loyalist for years and have had my best experiences with the game from the School 2 perspective. I also respect Josh's work, as he comes from a similar perspective.
I think theirs is a minority position on the OS slider forums, though.
