Re: M17 CFM Fantasy Draft strategy
Well for starters, 2 WRs in the first 3 picks is definitely not the way to go. Just gonna be honest. You can get decent young receivers in the later rounds. Same with QBs (but not too late). Defense is always gonna be the most important. Offense is easy. Instead of going after studs and veteran offensive players, wait until the later rounds for young talent that you can develop into studs. All you gotta do is look up in dat tree. -
Re: M17 CFM Fantasy Draft strategy
I'm in 2 online fantasy CFM's, they haven't drafted yet, but last year I drafted heavy on D. In one I drafted Von Miller in round 1 then Clowney round 2. I was then able to take Darius Slay in the 3rd (STEAL), then Kevin White in the 4th. Went OL in the 5th, Brashad Perriman in the 6th, Leonard Williams in the 7th. I didn't go QB till the 12th when I took Brett Hundley, I took my HB a round later when I took Jerrick McKinnon.
Wait on offense, only QB's worth taking in the 1st are Cam, Wilson, Luck, and Mariota. If those guys are gone wait on your QB, same applies for HB. You want to scatter OL throughout the top 12 or so, since there aren't many sleeper OL. Defense has to be a priority. Especially CB's and edge guys.Green Bay PackersSeattle MarinersNew York Rangers

Re: M17 CFM Fantasy Draft strategy
I've noticed that Tyrod Taylor is pretty good in this year's game. Every time I played against him with the Pats, he torched me both in the air and on the ground running.
What round does he go in fantasy drafts?Comment

Re: M17 CFM Fantasy Draft strategy
It's really all about how you want to build your team. My personal style is to take a mediocre quarterback and surround them with a supporting cast that they could only dream off. This usually nets me a great offense and a decent-to-good defense. For example, this is my team in my All Pro 6 man online CFM that I'm in with some friends. Re: M17 CFM Fantasy Draft strategy
I like to make a stud defense. 8 of my first 11 picks normally will be defense. This can change based on who's available.
Round
1. I'm looking for my defensive centerpiece. Normally Kuechly, Mack or Watt.
2-6. I'm taking CBs or front 7 guys. I want SS dev traits.
7. Decent old Qb. Romo, Rivers, Eli, or Cutler. I'll draft a replacement after a year or 2 of the franchise.
8+. Anyone left that has SS dev trait.
I'll finally take a Wr then put an o-line together.
Move back to the defense and grab safeties.
Besides my first pick, this is always an adapting strategy. If I see a player I like with 10 players ahead of him at the position, I'll grab a different position with less options. When the position starts getting thinner then go back to draft him. It's never perfect but I go with youth and traits and hope to get lucky.Comment

But, defense goes fast.
What defense do you run? 4-3? 3-4? something else?Comment

Re: M17 CFM Fantasy Draft strategy
I try to run a 4-3 which is why I love to get Kuechly to control the field.
I just started simming drafts to see where players get drafted to get a better idea of where value can be found and what rounds position runs start. I skipped my pick so I wouldn't mess up how the rest of the draft would go.
Each draft is different. One draft the cpu drafted Winston in rd 7 as my starting Qb. The next draft I did he was picked 12th overall. I'm doing more tests to prepare for my online draft with friends tonightComment

Re: M17 CFM Fantasy Draft strategy
Yea I love how varied the drafts are. This never used to be the case really and you could always count on the cpu drafting basically the same players in the same draft positions.Comment

Re: M17 CFM Fantasy Draft strategy
I drafted a pretty balanced team by using the following link:
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300...ck-to-returner
I went QB, ROLB, LT, CB, WR as it says. I think my first deviation from this came around 12 as I took another DE instead, but for the most part I followed this.
My WR were the weakest part along with LB, but overall I liked the team.
By memory I ended up with:
QB: Cam Newton
RB: Doug Martin, Arian Foster (both injured in 1st two games, LOL), Knile Davis (I'm the Browns so I have extra picks and traded my 2nd rouner for Melvin Gordon to fill in)
WR: Jordy Nelson, Devante Adams, Andre Johnson, Breshard Perriman
TE: Ladarius Green, Michael Rivera
My O-Line is strong at tackle and I have Alex Mack at centre while my guards are serviceable.
On D:
ROLB: Tamba Hali
LOLB: Trent Cole
CB: Pacman Jones, Cromartie
I also have a good FS, though most of me D escpaes me right now.Comment
