I just wanted to see how many of you have had successful blocked kicks and how you were able to do it. I have played in 15 or so games and haven't even come close to blocking anything. Punts are the same. I have had 2 punts, 3 FG and an extra point blocked and want to return the favor.

Blocked kicks by users and how to do them
Hey guys,
I just wanted to see how many of you have had successful blocked kicks and how you were able to do it. I have played in 15 or so games and haven't even come close to blocking anything. Punts are the same. I have had 2 punts, 3 FG and an extra point blocked and want to return the favor.Tags: None -
Re: Blocked kicks by users and how to do them
My results have been more or less the same. I've only gotten in close one time and it was on a punt but I always forget to go for blocks on punts but I haven't even gotten in one time on a XP or FG. -
Re: Blocked kicks by users and how to do them
The CPU had no problem practically intercepting my snap on a 27-yard FG attempt that would have iced the game with under a minute to go in the 4th. Still won, but it felt like that auto-correct cheese kicking in.Comment

Re: Blocked kicks by users and how to do them
Sometimes the game decides to give you a window to block it, sometimes it doesn't. The two times I was able to block a kick the kicker was iced.Teams: Minnesota Vikings, Cincinnati Reds, Marshall Thundering Herd, Virginia Tech Hokies (2010 alum)Comment

Blocked kicks by users and how to do them
I've got pretty good at blocking kicks.... Field goals anyway
It seems sometimes even if you time it right it doesn't give you the animation of going in for the block. I think that's a good thing though other wise anyone who practiced enough would block every kick
A big key in my success is the rumble feature in the controllers. Be ready with RT already almost pressed and as soon as you feel the the vibe click it..... The rusher is automatically controlled for a good distance of the jumped snap then you have to take over and dive for it

Re: Blocked kicks by users and how to do them
I had success early in the game with blocking punts but have kind of stalled out recently. Here is what I'm working on to master blocking kicks.
The first thing is timing. Timing the snap is huge, and how I'm trying to get this down pact is by listening to the kicker/user setting his kick power and kick accuracy. You will hear two thuds as he sets them, and generally about a second / second and a half later, the ball will be snapped. I generally start off in regular punt return and try timing the snap, before I actually go for attempting to block it. I also do this as a precaution of the AI being prepared for me to block the kicks. If I try blocking every time I just feel as if the AI will eventually be prepared for it, so even when I do get a perfect release off the line, they'll still be able to stop me, so I think timing in both ways, timing the snap and timing of the playcall goes a long way.
I have not blocked a FG yet, but I think it works the same way. So my recommendations is start off the game not trying to block, but to try and time the snap... do this by listening for the two thuds during the kick, and measure how much time you may have before the snap. EDIT: Also I wouldn't try to block every kick... they don't even do this in the NFLLast edited by d11king; 09-01-2016, 09:18 AM.Comment

The AI blocks are obnoxious. You can tell when it is going to happen. The game slows down as the ball is snapped. I just roll my eyes when it happens because there isn't anything I can do.Comment
