    Teddy Bridgewater placed on IR
    08/31/16

Description BREAKING NEWS - Teddy Bridgewater went down during practice, and couldn't get back up. Sources are saying that Bridgewater dislocated his knee and tore his ACL, prematurely ending his 2016 season.

The 23 year old Quarterback will need to undergo surgery, but an early MRI shows that no nerve or arterial damage done. Bridgewater will be spending the year rehabing his knee, but should be back and healthy by the start of the 2017 NFL season. However, rumors are already beginning to fluctuate about who Mike Zimmer will be shopping around for to fill the gap at the QB position.

Bridgewater would be entering his third season as an NFL Quarterback, and coming off his best season yet in 2015. Passing for over 3,200 yards with 14 touchdowns, Bridgewater helped lead his team into the playoffs before being knocked off in the wildcard by Seattle.

Notes: Welcome to my Minnesota Vikings franchise! I'm going to try to keep Minnesota's storylines as current as I can, but I'm not going to be controlling other teams to keep other storylines in place (such as the Romo injury, Brady's suspension... etc.) I'll just be creating these storylines for other teams as they happen in-game.

Eagles deal Sam Bradford to Vikings
      09/03/16

BREAKING NEWS - Former first overall pick Sam Bradford has been traded over to the Minnesota Vikings, in exchange for a first and fourth round pick in the 2017 NFL draft. Minnesota put a lot on the line for this trade, proving they're in "win-now" mode.

Not a very shocking trade; the most shocking part is what Minnesota gave up for Sam Bradford. Zimmer and Co. believe they have all the key pieces to win it all this year, though, and this trade proves it. After missing the entire 2014 season, Bradford had a solid year with Philadelphia last year under the circumstances. Having coughed the ball up 24 times last year, ball-control is going to be a top priority for Bradford moving forward.

        Minnesota Vikings Preseason Wrap-Up
        09/04/16

The Vikings end their preseason on a rather high-note with a win over the Los Angeles Rams, finishing the preseason with a 3-1 record.Sam Bradford only played a single drive against his former team, but looked good all the same. Rookie ILB Kentrell Brothers also got his first interception of his career, picking off Case Keenum.

The veteran Shaun Hill, entering his 15th season, had an excellent preseason. The quarterback completed 38 of 69 passes for 476 yards and 5 touchdowns against 0 interceptions -- a 100.8 QBR for the veteran.

First round pick Laquon Treadwell lit up the preseason, regardless if it was Bridgewater, Bradford or Hill throwing him the ball. His 16 receptions led the team, netting him 211 yards and 2 touchdowns. Charles Johnson had a monster preseason as well; he got the ball 8 times for 166 yards and 2 touchdowns, averages 20.8 yards per catch.

Chad Greenway is still proving his has some juice left in the tank: the 10 year veteran had two interceptions in the preseason which led the team, recorded 17 tackles and forced 1 fumble as well. Sharrif Floyd was a dominant force on the line, tying ILB Eric Kendricks with 23 tackles to lead the team. Floyd also led in sacks with 2.5.

        * * * POSITION BATTLES * * *

DescriptionWR1 - Stefon Diggs vs. Laquon Treadwell

Both men were excellent in the preseason, but it looks like the Vikings are going to be going with Treadwell as their main guy in the WR1 slot. Treadwell had chemistry with both Sam Bradford and Shaun Hill, and was the main target for both men. With the QB position at a shaky standpoint, with Bridgewater out for the season, it'll be great for either QB to have a solid target to throw to.
        WINNER- TREADWELL

        Description
WR3 - Jarius Wright vs. Charles Johnson

The slot position can be a dangerous position to try and cover with the right person in the slot. Whereas both men are very quick and have great hands, the Vikings have decided to go with Johnson as their slot receiver this year. Johnson proved in the preseason that he has a great release to create separation and get open, and amazing speed to outrun defenders.
        WINNER- JOHNSON

        Description
CB3 - Mackensie Alexander vs. Trae Waynes

Last year's first round pick versus a young DB with first round talent. Alexander and Waynes both played their hearts out in the preseason, but Trae Waynes has a certain aurora about him. Waynes allowed the fewest catches, and was more of a dominant force on the field. If 38 year old Terrence Williams continues to regress, don't be surprised to see Waynes and Alexander move up to CB2/CB3 slots respectively.
        WINNER- WAYNES

        Description
SS1 - Tyvon Branch vs. Jayron Kearse

Minnesota picked up Branch from free agency to improve a position on defense, but rookie Jayron Kearse outplayed the former Raiders and Chiefs veteran. This will be one position battle that continues into the regular season; Branch didn't get much time to play or to learn the playbook. The Vikings will be looking to get Kearse as much playtime as possible.
        WINNER- TIE
