TNF Opener: Carolina Panthers @ Denver Broncos

53 man rosters are set, 4 days until kickoff.

I'll be at the game, in enemy territory, going hard for Carolina. I feel really good about this game, but I felt really good about the Super Bowl, too.

It's been funny hearing most of Denver sports radio convince themselves that Trevor Siemian is a good QB, while touting Paxton Lynch as the next big thing. I'm assuming Carolina keys on the run early, while giving whoever is on Sanders some extra safety help. The advantage that Denver has in the WR/CB matchups, I think will be negated by the inexperience of Siemian.

Offensively, I think the gameplan will be much improved from the Super Bowl. I would assume that Von is doubled every play with either TE or HB help, or a major line slide to account for him.

I'm going with a 21-10 Panther win. LEGGO!!

I think Carolina wins this one in a pretty low scoring affair.

I have heard some of our radio guys here in Denver say they think it will be the same score as the SB and I just don't see that happening again.

Should be a good learning opportunity for Siemian

I am really hoping that Jeff Heuerman is ready to go for this game. I think he can be a difference maker for the Broncos at TE.

I've got Carolina by 3. I'd say it'd be 17-14 something like that.

One thing I will say, as far as what Jr. mentioned in the OP, is that unlike many of my fellow citizens of Denver, I do NOT think that Siemian is a "good QB." I agree with Jr, I think we, as a community, have looked at the QB situation with "Orange and Blue colored glasses" a little bit.

I think Sieman has a pretty low ceiling, and I think Lynch isn't close to being ready. I also think that while we have 3 good/solid RBs, we just don't have an o-line that scares anybody. I am sure Kubiak is going to try to pound the rock but we will see what the Panthers front 7 has to say about that.

I am just hoping that all Sieman has to do is Not Suck, make a play here or there, and our defense will be able to keep us in every game.

I'm very interested in seeing how our offense will look, especially Cam. He was great last year in not forcing the ball into coverage...hopefully he keeps that up. I'm also curious to see how our DBs look with both Peanut and Josh Normal gone.

Side note: interesting that Jr. is in Denver but roots for Carolina. I'm guessing you're in the substantial minority up there?

I must be the only one in the minority that think the Broncos win this game tomorrow night. Denver's defense manhandled the very same Offensive Line that will be starting again tomorrow night. Panthers didn't do anything to upgrade their OL in the offseason surprisingly and I can see history repeating itself. Also James Bradberry and Daryl Worley are two rookie corners that are being asked to cover Thomas and Sanders.

Gary Kubiak likes to run the ball more so than run so while I do think they take some shots to rattle the rookie corners, they will rely on CJ Anderson more to protect Trevor in his first game.

Hoping Siemian can execute Kubiak's offense well. They still have tons of weapons.

I think the Panthers win tomorrow though. Something like 24-17.

The Broncos will throw a lot more tonight then most people anticipate.

I honestly expected them to do that anyway instead of trying to run on that Defense.

They lost their best DB so might as well test out that Secondary, especially with the WRs you have.

I grew up in Charlotte and moved here for graduate school. I am definitely in the minority and am expecting plenty of heckling at the game tomorrow. The fans up here are pretty good natured, though.

What leads you to think that? Everything I've heard is they might take a couple of shots early, but they'll stick to Kubiak's mentality of establishing the run to set up PA.

The chess game should be pretty interesting to watch. I'm guessing Carolina plays a very soft Cover 3 shell so the rooks don't get burnt deep, allow the LBs to cover the underneath stuff, and hope the front 4 can get pressure quickly.

So torn on this game. I am in a big money Pick 'em league and won't send in my pick until close to game time. Can't wait, THE NFL IS BACK!

I think their game plan will be the opposite of what everyone is expecting pretty much just because it's what everyone is expecting.

My thought is based on nothing but gut and I could very well be wrong but I think they are going to pass to set up the run other than the other way around (Kubiak's MO).
