No, they ran the same promotion last year when the real NFL season started. If I recall correctly, I think the deal might have only lasted for opening weekend before it went back to $59?? If so, might be the best deal until Black Friday.

2K launches for $30 and is hailed as the best game for a decade. Madden runs a promotion for opening week and it's a sign that the game is slipping.

I'll virtually guarantee this isn't a "sales are slow" product dump and that this was planned all along as a promotion. Yeah it kind of sucks for everyone who bought it earlier but that's the nature of the beast.

Why not just sell the game starting at $39.99 to begin with, if you're just going to price slash it two weeks after it comes out (for whatever reason)? It's hard not to feel like I got a raw deal just for getting the game the week it came out instead of waiting an extra 10 days.

Madden NFL 17 Currently on Sale at Amazon For $39.99

One reason I know Madden just isn't a great game to my eyes, is even when it's on a nice sale, I'm still not willing to pick this up @$39.99. I'll probably wait until Madden 18 releases and possibly grab it when its under $5 used.

We really need another NFL game. This is sad. I've watched countless video's, including some in 4k, and I just can't see the upgrades past commentary. And personally I'll take a more bland, but true NFL crew I recognize, over well done commentary that sounds like a college game from two nobody's you ever heard of before.

If you can't see the upgrades it is because either you are just assuming that it is a bad game, or you simply don't want to. Why don't you try actually playing the game before bashing it man.

There is not going to be competing NFL games anymore man, madden is what there is now, it is time to get over it

Madden 17 have been the best selling game in Amazon for several weeks now, the fact that is $39.99 is probably a strategy to drive sales in volume with the excitement of the kickoff week. I will have it in mind for next year tho.

I'm not too bummed about this since I recently signed up for best buy's gamers club program, but this is a good deal for those on the fence about the game.

Though I will say this, hopefully amazon doesn't deliver the game, but instead it's fed ex/ups. I recently ordered a fuel pump on amazon and it had to be refunded since amazon 'lost' my order, after weeks of waiting. Then I found out this has happened to a lot of people since amazon started using their own carrier service.
