The upgrade is complete, but you've probably noticed the forums are only showing posts up to about April 8. Posts made after that are still in the process of being moved over, and that should take another week or two. Feel free to start a new thread.
The site might feel a little slow while work continues. Engineers are staying on it through the night to get things moving faster again. Thanks for your patience.

Sounds like it works the exact same way as Diamond Dynasty did in The Show. When you locked in a certain team, if you collected another of their cards, that card could be sold, but if you only had the card attached to your collection, you can't sell it. Really makes you stop and consider if the player you're getting in return will be worth it. It's a risk/reward kind of thing.
FWIW, I really like the way it worked in The Show and I'm actually somewhat considering playing some MyTeam this year.
Yeah, that's what it sounds like. I liked how it worked in The Show but MT seems to be much, much harder to come by than stubs. I thought the way it worked in 2K15 was pretty much perfect. I'm not someone that spends a lot of money on pack openings so being able to sell off some cards in a collection once I got the reward was pretty vital.
Grinding for those legend rewards might be my favorite part of the mode. I hope they didn't screw this up.

MyTeam didn't interest me all that much last year, but that blog has certainly gotten me very curious. I like a lot of the things they said they were doing there -- I love a grind that's rewarded properly and it seems like they've taken the steps this year to really reward those players who work a lot in MyTeam.

Can't wait to try it out, new matchmaking is gonna do wonders if it works as advertised. Guys who don't use vc can actually enjoy the mode this year if you match up with the same team overalls.
Guys who play PNO should try MTO now if matchmaking is good, making your own lineups is fun and not playing super teams every game will be awesome.

It sounds improved from last year, but I wish they would figure out a way to make even low rated players have value. MUT does this with their sets & badges. Being able to trade in bronze players for badges that could get you better players would be awesome.

I'm dying of laughter of people crying about the. locking of players in collections .
these guys ruined 2k15 rewards half way into the season and destroyed 2k16 rewards in such and they still want to cheat the system 1 more time.........

The 25K MT collection rewards is what ruined the 2K15 market, not being able to sell back the Lakers collection after unlocking Byron Scott.

Color me impressed 2K, color me impressed.
This all looks great, stat tracking alone sold me on the changes made. Sound like a lot of nice content for offline players and the new "RTTP" mode, MyTeam Online sounds way better. I do wish they would've added in an a single player "seasons" type mode like this.
Very excited to try this all out, the new fonts/menus/colors look so great too.

Ugh just noticed they eliminated all historic bronze and silver players...not a fan of that. There were a lot of notable and useful historic players below gold. Shooting specialists like Hubert Davis or Dell Curry for example. Definitely needed to weed out some trash but that's throwing the baby out with the bathwater.
Edit: looking at the screenshots of team collections, many are traditionally bronze/silver historic players...so I'm not sure what is actually being referred to in the blog.
I think the trailer was supposed to be the myTeam pack opening by the community day guys (and that one fifa chick) that cashnasty released on his youtube page.
It didnt show anything but those guys opening packs and "freaking" out when they pulled a "probably predetermined" Curry , Lebron, Blake, etc.
Easily the weakest trailer so far. This blog has me more hype for myTeam than the 2 minute trailer.

Yeah that trailer was really not my cup of tea. I guess there is a subset of people that are just into opening packs, but opening packs is too much of a gamble for me. More stress than anything else lol.

Same here! I loved playing myTeam, whether it was domination or challenges but I found that a lot of the challenges were for online head to head and I wasn't interested. Glad they just it up because it sucked having challenges like "Play with Curry on your team..." And it was almost impossible for me to afford Curry so never got to do it.

About 90% of the challenges in 2k16 were offline, I wish they had more online ones.
Some good additions, I hope MT online has a fixed difficulty setting. Playing online H2H on Pro and All Star settings was terrible.
Are they finally going to give us custom setting play with friends. It sucks being force to play on Pro difficulty settings in Play With Friends mode.
