Re: Has EA acknowledged the SILENT TACKLES ?
There he is. He's back! Lol. Yeah, I posted a vid in the other thread for mrprice33 to see what he thinks. Here is the vid clip I posted. https://vimeo.com/182795446
My game dvr was acting up, so I apologize for the 1 min clip. Lol. Should've just been 30s, but the playback froze on me. But, if u watch till the end of that video, I believe people can see/hear what we are talking about here. The 'hit' noise ends up being the 'juke' noise, imo. I am wondering if they simply used that same noise for special moves AND big hits? The problem is, there are NO pads colliding noises. That is what's missing, and that's what we're saying are 'silent' tackles. The big hit noise should play like a Ray Lewis tackle sound bite. Here's some Ray Lewis hits for example. http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-films-...d-FX-Ray-Lewis
The hits start at the 1 min mark. Now, if someone wants to tell me the madden 'hhhmmpff' noise sounds ANYTHING like 1 single Ray Lewis hit, u let me know. Lol[emoji6]
Hear those pads colliding? In the Ray Lewis vid, I mean. That is absolutely missing from madden 17.

Re: Has EA acknowledged the SILENT TACKLES ?
I think its pretty self explanatory....fire up a game of Madden 17 have your LB or defensive back come up and stick it to the ballcarrier .....and listen to sounds of silence.
No pads
No helmet
Not grunting or ooooomph
no impact
Just the soft soothing feel of 2 players colliding in a smooth rubbery buttery marshmellowy blissComment

Re: Has EA acknowledged the SILENT TACKLES ?
If your last thread is any indication, this appears to be an individual preference for more audible tackles. If it was a widespread issue, I would think more people would have commented on it by now.
Personally, I don't have an issue with tackle sounds when I'm playing.Comment

Re: Has EA acknowledged the SILENT TACKLES ?
I have noticed it. Sometimes when my RB gets tackled by an OLB (or vise a versa) there will be no tackle sound.
It started happening in M25, when they switched over to PS4/Xbone. Been there ever since.Comment

Re: Has EA acknowledged the SILENT TACKLES ?
I would say I've found the tackle sounds "weak" (or at times, just non-existant, reall) this year as well.Comment

Are people using the "Field" level preset sound setting?Comment

Has EA acknowledged the SILENT TACKLES ?
In that video I posted earlier, I cranked up all field level sounds. I can't remember my exact setup, but I definitely had the field noise at 100 and the commentary at 40 or maybe even zero. Either way, for that specific clip, I hope u can appreciate the field sounds heard throughout the play. Then, when the safety lays the big hit smackdown on Coleman, u can def hear the 'hmmpff' special move noise. U don't hear any pads colliding. I think a couple of things are possible. 1. They really amped up the special move 'hmmpff' for M17. I hope we can all agree on that. I mean, the first time u play this game and perform a successful precision juke, and heard that 'hmmpff' for the first time, I was actually pleased with it. It's a nice audible cue that u actually performed a juke. However, if they have a 'big hit sound', either the 'special move sound' dominates it. Or, 2. The 'hmmpff' is also the big hit sound? Or 3. They didn't make a 'pads colliding big hit sound'. I mean, that's where I stand on the issue. Lol. Or, maybe 4. Certain tv/sound systems aren't playing the 'pads colliding big hit sound'? And, for me, understand, this is def not a deal breaker by any stretch, but as Rico has pointed out, it just makes big hits feel so unsatisfying. Lol. I want to hear that collision! And some grunts! I want to hear 'uggghhh!', not 'hmmpff'. [emoji41][emoji458]

Re: Has EA acknowledged the SILENT TACKLES ?
Guys I would agree that calling it a dealbreaker may be a stretch....but lets face the facts...Not having a rewarding impact sound effect when making a hit on the ballcarrier certainly makes the gameplay feel unsatisfying, and unfinished.....
In my opinion, EA needs to either do 1 of 2 things:
1-Patch the game and simply add a few of the additional sound fx that are missing from tackles to give the gameplay a more polished and complete feel
2-Start take field level audio samples from real NFL games and start incorporating them into the gameplay. Similar to what Forza does for their racing games and even what 2K does for the NBA 2K games
This is in no way nitpicking like some of the other posts I see such as the New England Patriots turf color is innacurate or the scans of Kaperniks tatoos are off.
I'm bringing up a legitimate gameplay gripe in the audio sound fx that ruins the immersion factor for many playersComment

Re: Has EA acknowledged the SILENT TACKLES ?
If we've gotten to the point in Madden where this is an actual issue, Id say were doing pretty good.
To be honest, there's so much going on on any given play I dont notice this. And if they did add some barbarian style audio byte like Nolan Ryan grunting throwing a fastball, it'd probably start to annoy more people than anything. Sometimes less is more.Comment

Re: Has EA acknowledged the SILENT TACKLES ?
I've noticed the soft, lifeless tackles too. Sound is lacking and sometimes players 'tackle' by running into each other. I think it's been like that since 13 with the physics engine, though each year the post play stumbling and players tripping over each other gets cleaned up and/or masked a bit. It's still in the game though.
If it's not the engine, maybe it's a direct order from the nfl to lesson the 'hardcore' blows of the real life nfl? That wouldn't surprise me either.Comment

Re: Has EA acknowledged the SILENT TACKLES ?
Listened to TNF on the radio on the way to work and thought of this thread. Madden is definitely missing the "helmet clatter" (for lack of a better term) on hits. I think that's what makes the loudest sound. The crack of a big hit is like the crack of a bat on a good hit in baseball, very distinct and would help to add immersion to the game.Comment
