Sony (the company) does need to get its house in order. They probably kiss the ground the PS is made because it's been one of their few growth drivers as they suck pretty much elsewhere.

Hopefully, they will find a way to bring those employees back later.

It also means The Show probably still sells well enough to justify whatever is being spend on that manpower and equipment, which is a good sign to the health of the series, imo.

I've been thru downsizing and headcount reduction myself at my work. I stayed while I saw other departments cut or reduced...I saw a lot of good employees from my department leave because they were fearful cuts would hit us so they tried to get ahead of the curve (eventually, it did hit my department).

It's certainly not comparable as I don't work in a video game industry but one thing is always constant: people want security in their job. I wonder if we'll see some moves from the dev team as a result of this.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

I don't work in the video game industry either but in software development and we're going through cuts as well. It's not fun at all.

Always sad to hear of anyone losing their jobs. While I'm happy that the Show team was unaffected, my heart still goes out to those who actually lost their jobs.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

I was starting to get a panic attack when I read this topic

It would just kill me if it was the end of the MLB The Show series. I love this game so much and is the main reason I own a PS4 soon to be PS4 Pro. If this really happens or god forbid happens in the future I will never buy a new Playstation console again!

Thank god it sounds like they are safe for now at least

It is very sad for anyone to lose there job no doubt about that. However it is very possible that Sony might be cutting these other teams to use that money else where like for MLB The Show for example? Either way this kind of news is never good and really makes we wonder how safe MLB The Show is going forward. Will MLB The Show be around another 10 years or more and on the Playstation 5???? I sure hope it is!!!!!!!! But as an old baseball gamer I have been though this before with games like 3DO High Heat Baseball , EA Sports MVP Baseball and 2K Baseball all gone and never came back

MLB The Show is all we really have left.

Nothing wrong with a bit of fat trimming. While undisputedly solid, The Show is a very stagnant game.

Yep. 16, while still my favorite baseball game in recent memory, has had the same exact features since probably MLB 11 (save a few minor additions).

I'm glad someone said it. Not the right moment here to grind an already well-sharpened axe. That kind of "agenda posting" can get people banned, too.

Sorry to hear about the loss of jobs. I am in the IT industry and see this a lot. Good for The Show. Perhaps that Dev team will get a little bigger to put out and even more stellar product year after year.
