2K Dropped The Ball With This Year's MyPark and Pro-AM

This year's MyPark and Pro-AM was much anticipated by the 2K community, but it has so far been plagued with problems.
    • Animations that were free in previous years now cost between 200-500 VC. We are talking about spending 200 VC to buy a Normal 2 ISO move. Oh, and you can't try it out before buying.
    • Store and equipping animations have been more frustrating than ever. In previous years, it was as simple as clicking A/X to purchase, and then selecting it again to equip. Now you have to go to the store, add it to your cart, purchase it, then exit out of the store and go into MyPlayer Inventory to finally equip it. What used to take a few clicks now takes 10-15 to do the same task.
    • Many people have been reporting on here and on Twitter that they are not receiving their Rep boost for staying loyal to their Affiliation. This has frustrated many as people who have spent 4-5 hours leveling up from Rookie 1 -> Pro 1, only to see their friends jump on for the first time later and start as a Pro 1.
    • Very minimal has been done in changing up the scenery for the parks in MyPark.
    • The Stage has been removed.
    • Many things that were free right out of the gate in Pro-AM last year are now a "premium" feature that you can only acheive by leveling up your Pro-AM team. Still unknown if once acheiving that level in Pro-AM, if an additional VC cost will be included to get custom jerseys, images, courts, etc.
    • Walk-on Pro-AM is broken. Many people are reporting (and myself experiencing) squadding up with friends in MyPark and going into Walk-On Pro-AM, only getting to be placed in separate arenas from your friends. Similar results happen when joining from MyCourt as well.
    • Many people are reporting on not receiving rep from Walk-On Pro-AM.
    • MyPark After Dark was not ready for release. Not even the promised trailer (that we were supposed to get on Wednesday) has been released yet.
    • Overall customization that has been in previous years have been stripped. This includes Dribbling Posture, and Shot Timing Release (EDIT: Shot Timing Release gets unlocked later in MyCareer).

This should be stickied. I had pretty much every issue. Have yet to get our entire squad into a walk on... after about 25 attempts.. the best we did was 4/5. We never got all 3 in when we only had 3 either.

What will you say when its the 20th and its all still broken?

ProAm was 100% broken for months before they fixed it for 2k16... and even then, it didnt work great.

But hey, who needs a working game when fanboys will insult anyone who complains?

The fact that they havent even release the trailer that was promised on the past Wed/Thurs should tell you release date has nothing to do with it.....

"game not out till the 20th"

how is that a excuse when 2k has been pushing the 16th as the launch date and released a 7 gig patch before hand while leaving MANY things broken.

There's no excuse - but it's also very common for Any new released game to have problems that the company wasn't expecting. When games are released problems occur all of a sudden - it doesn't have to be due to lazyness? - who are we to assume that? We don't work in such things - therefore we can't tell why things happen. Technology will always have moments of unpredictable behavior. You can try to prevent it but that doesn't mean it's guaranteed. From a professional aspect - since it's well known games have problems all the time no matter the company - I'm patient. And anyone here defending 2k as yall say - is patient too. Take a second to realize such things before calling anyone fan boy guys. Frustration is understandable but I doubt 2k wants the game to not work. Let's have some logic.

is this true? is this why the game is missing everything?

MyPark After Dark being unplayable isn't unexpected, though... they knew it wasn't done yet, which is probably why they're not releasing any kind of trailer about it.

It seems the only thing they learned from last year is to not release a trailer for it like they did with Pro-Am (tons of people were pissed that Pro-Am was broken upon release).

Point is technology can be unpredictable. Maybe they thought it would work and it just didn't.

We'll never know, but I'm gonna go ahead say they knew and just didn't care... it's a pattern with them. They'll finish the game in a few months.

I can only blame us (the fans) cuz we buy it anyway... but someone really should start a petition to let 2k18 be a $20 DLC, so they can spend more time making a finished game in 2k19.

This is why I'm super hesitant to march on 2K lIke some horrible horror movie villager trope just yet. The fact that Park after Dark isn't available yet, and the fact that Ronnie put out a twitter statement saying the park trailer wasn't ready because it's not finished yet and they don't want to release a half finished product (I.E. pro am last year).

Now...we go a long time without this, and I'll pull that torch out real quick.

I'm enjoying it so far more than any 2k so far in next gen - so I disagree. But feel free to do it. I think it's an exaggeration but we all experience different things. So something probably made you come to that conclusion. And I get it. I just think it's way too early to be making conclusions. Especially when 2k is hardly the only company who has technical problems. But hey we'll see. If I wasn't enjoying it maybe I would feel the same.

My idea for bi-annual release (with a DLC in between) is a pipe dream, but it'd fix most of the issues with these rushed releases... the only other thing they could do would be to offer an Open Beta test.

Most major releases these days do an Open Beta to test out their online play. I think it's good marketing PR too because I bought Battlefront due to enjoying the beta and will buy Battlefield for the same reason... Hell, I almost bought NBA Live 16 after playing their demo/beta test.
