    Breaking a MLB Record

I've been playing the Show since it's inception and only 1x time did I take down a record, strikeouts in a season. Nothing happened then

...fast forward to MLB the Show 16, closing in on Joe D's 56 game hitting streak in Franchise mode. I rested my guy, took every precaution vs tough matchups, pinch hitting was certainly out of the question lol. Anywho, last night I took the streak down and am currently sitting on a 57 game hitting streak, only problem = I hit a HR to break the record. No celebration, no mention, no stat overlay, no crowd reaction. I'm bummed

Anyone else have a similar tale of woe?

i beat the home run record in a season and each team came out of the dug outs and clapped.

but in your case that would suck.

Wonder if that has something to do with the type of game play. Real time or broadcast?

            Re: Breaking a MLB Record

Doesn't compare at all to breaking one of the hallowed records of the sport, but I broke the K's in a Game record, but it was on a K that ended the inning.

No mention of it next time he took the mound, next K, nothing.

I wish that when another commentary/presentation took over that it would "flag" the achievement for mention at the next possible opportunity. Not sure if it would be possible to do across games (but prior game performances are mentioned so maybe...?), but I think that would be a nice touch, especially for huge stuff like breaking DiMaggio's hit streak and other things like very important milestones (400+ HR, 200th+ wins, etc).

Franchise mode. My next game, base hit and there was an overlay showing 58 game hitting streak (similar to the previous games, other than the game breaking, which was none).

Yeah, I was just disapointed yesterday. In game 161 of my season, I got a guy into the 50 HR/50 steal club, and no mention of how special that was.

Earlier in the year, I broke the single game strikeout mark, and they did make a small mention of it. When I broke the single season K mark, there was nothing though, even though its one of the records that the game specifically tracks.

I also hit over .400 with a guy, and they didn't talk about it at all in game 162, or in my first playoff game.

For record breaking moments, there's never really been any significant mention of it, let alone it being brought up later in the game or season. I'm hoping that will be changed in subsequent iterations of "The Show". Also, new records to break are desperately needed. The same records to break have been in the game for like 10 years.

I tied Babe Ruth in homeruns with Alex Rodriguez at 714, Arod celebrated at home plate with teammates, then got a curtain call. Ironically the announcers said, move over Babe. The next game #715 was hit and there was mention of Arod surpassing the Babe but no celebration.

...ps the hitting streak continues (67 games and counting), squeaked one out in my final AB 1-5

Or at least a "Modern-day record" or have a Top 10 in each single season record.

it's damn near impossible to START the amount of games Cy Young won, let alone win them. I'd love if they had a page that had the 3,000 hit club, 500/600/700 HR club, 300 Win club, 40/40 club, pitchers who've thrown a perfect game or No-hitter, 20 K club, etc... The only records they have that you can break are next to impossible.

BTW, OP, I have a 49-game hit streak going and hit a HR to increase it and noticed they didn't say anything about it... I got worried that even if it was the 57th hit they wouldn't say anything... So now I know. CONTACT SWING! lol

Absolutely! I noticed throughout the entire streak that any time I hit a HR, there would be no acknowledgment of the streak continuing.

yeah it's weird how sometimes the milestone celebration isn't given priority over the home run one. What's weirder still is that sometimes it DOES work.

Wonder if there would have been mention of it if it were a double, or did it have to be a single?

I know for a fact that if it's a single, double or triple there is an acknowledgement of the record being extended... It's so hard to get to 40+, let alone break it, so I am not sure how they celebrate when the record gets broken.
