Pass Rush pause after finesse move

    Guys,

my control skills and D are improving but has anyone else noticed DE's pausing momentarily when clear to the QB and thus avoiding a sack?

I played some lower tier QBs and had a field day with a low ratings DE who had very good finesse move. Same player v Roethlisberger and Brady got the same release but then noticeably stuttered allowing a throw away.

Is this a mechanic to stop scrubs setting sack records or to allow top tier QBs to influence games more heavily? Could it be similar to the nano detection mechanic?

It's an error in their nano blitz detection. I posted video of it in the bigs thread a few days ago. Doubt they bother fixing it though.

Roger that. It's not at a point where it's ruining my fun but just obvious enough to yank my crank a little!

On a related note, I play with all the help/control overlays on. I've noticed when I use the LT (or RT? Can't remember) to time the snap with my DE's that it sends a signal for the CPU QB to throw the ball away if I use X to get past the OT.

EG: I time the snap properly with the right trigger, then hit X to beat the offensive tackle. Even though I get nearly immediate pressure the CPU always threw the ball away before I could get a sack.

I tested not timing the snap (leaving RT alone) but still using X to get around the OT and I saw the CPU throw the ball away far less often, thus bumping my sack totals.

Thanks for posting this. I've had that happen before but thought it was my imagination. Will do this for now on.

question: it's assumed that this means this user is/was part of the military?

interesting. it's a fairly common phrase back home for anyone to use.

I assume he is. "Roger That" originated in the military and I don't know that I've ever heard non-military use it.
I don't know for certain that he/is was in the military, but because of my deep gratefulness and respect for the military, I thanked him just in case.

Lots of vocab has a military root, especially in a port city like Liverpool. We share lots of our words with our naval/Royal Marines heritage.

Thanks for your thanks. I'm old and a civilian now!

maybe it's because i grew up in a port town too but i just figured it came from TV/films. my family has no military background but it's a phrase i heard plenty of growing up, along with "over & out" etc.

Over and Out is definitely a film saying. They are two different things and wouldn't be said by professionals
Over means 'I've finished talking and I'm awaiting your response'
Out means 'I'm done and expect no more communications until I next initiate'.

So essentially 'Over and Out' is 'Keep talking, No wait! Shut Up!'

so back to this pass rush issue.............

have the devs said anything about looking into it? i've had a few user games where i should've been sacked by the user player but they would freeze in front of me. it's leading our league to believe the game is more scripted this cycle then last.
