MyCareer: More Lifetime Movies or more lines for commentators/coaches/teammates?

Instead of spending time/money/resources on trying to make a Lifetime Movie of The Week - why not focus on improving the people that talk about me the most: The Commentators, my Coaches, TNT dudes, etc..

If both Spike Lee and the dude who made Creed can't figure out how to make these dumb stories work, isn't it time to ditch this idea?

The commentators are so damn clueless... whether I'm a rookie or a vet, whether I score 400 points or 40 points, whether I'm taking the 76ers to the Finals or the Warriors - they don't acknowledge any of it properly.

The fun of MyCareer is to become an unreal, godly NBA player - but if these storylines are too linear to recognize my accomplishments, then why not let the commentators mention?

Here is a free script for VC: "I can't believe ____ just scored ___ points! That has never been done before! Wow, ____ is just unbelievable!" Something as dumb, yet as simple as that would be way more satisfying than talking to Justice Young.

If you vote no, you should post.

It always sucks hearing the announcers talk about how bad your team's history is, how maybe you'll get better one day, when you're 25-2.

Or when they talk about the "next game" in Game 7 of the NBA Finals.

We've seen what they can do with storylines, you know they can fix this if they just focus on it.

Would much prefer in MyCareer to have all cut-scenes be related to your players performance.

I liked the idea they had in 2K14 with Jackson Ellis, may not have been executed the best way, but the idea was better. More like a Magic v Bird rivalry.

Have cut-scenes that are related to Owner/GM/Coach interactions, teammates and other players during offseason situations. Key moments, like a huge game, setting a record or a really bad performance.

Just get rid of these contained story's. Or if you really need to have them, make it a separate mode like FIFA 17 has done with The Journey being separate from career mode.

I think just get rid of it. Does anyone like it? I only see people making fun of it.

Maybe a big problem is that it wants you to play all 82 regular season games... I'd rather just play the big moments of my entire career, not all the boring stuff that a good story would skip.

I would rather remove ALL this story related nonsense that was introduced to us with the jackson ellis drama.

Let me go back to 2k13 or whenever the last year was where i can just go into games, not have to sit in 10 minute cut scenes that add nothing to the game for someone who just wants to play basketball.

Not to mention, let me go back to using a custom roster for mycareer. I HATE having these fake people in it.. jackson, justice, denver.. get rid of them all.

it's not mycareer. i dont dictate what happens to me.. 2k decided that for all of us and realistically we are all playing the same exact career. This is like playing an MMORPG where there is only 1 storyline regardless of however many classes you want to have. Thats like ordering pizza with no option of toppings and only being able to get cheese.. and that aint right

Personally, I like the story element of MyCareer. Is it perfect? No. Sometimes I find the story to cheesy and find some of the characters unlikable or poorly developed. However, I will take this 100 times out of 100 over 2k10-2k13.

While I do have fond memories of those game, an 82+ game season is too much of a grind for people like me. It surprises me when someone says they want a MyCareer mode like those games, to me it was very much play game, win/lose game, repeat, which quickly got boring. I very much agree about the commentary aspect. That is something that frustrates me, because it's been poor from the very beginning.

My perfect MyCareer would be a story that relies heavily on your on court performance as well as decisions regarding sponsers, teammates, fans etc. You should be able to decide weather you want to become a low-ego, team orientated, superstar like Tim Duncan or a polarizing, celebrity, superstar like a LeBron, Kobe, etc.
