OOTP Developments have just announced Franchise Hockey Manager 3 will release on October 17 and will be the first NHL PC game since NHL 09 to be officially licensed by the NHL.

Fans can save $10 by pre-ordering the game today through October 16. Check out some of the new features below, along with this link to their livestream, going over more details.
    • Officially licensed by the NHL®! Teams will have their real logos, insignias, and uniforms along with the Stanley Cup® Championship and post-season awards!
    • All-New 'Path To Glory' Mode: A streamlined and more approachable way to play, with improved game and information flow as well as news from around the world that impacts your experience.
    • Generate your GM/Coach, assign your skills as you wish, start low and work your way up - or take the helm of your favorite team and take it to the Stanley Cup® Championship!
    • New Role-Based Tactical System: Allows the coach to choose from a variety of pre-set tactics to build their team's "system" and then assign players specific roles that fit into that system.

No online leagues means I won't be buying this game again.
I was extremely disappointed to hear they scrapped that part of the game.

This year, with the NHL license, we fully concentrated on the modern, real world game and immersion.

Is FHM similar to the old Eastside games where you could GM in pretty much any league, such as taking over a junior team?

        Yes.
There are differences, but one thing I felt FHM did much better than EHM are the stats.
FHM is pretty much bang-on in that dept.
