The announcers have no idea what is going on.... they announce me as getting my first NBA start, they talk about how LAC drafted me, etc. etc.
I played the 76s - no mention that I was drafted by them, no mention about Justice now being a rival, etc. etc.
Instead of focusing on a linear (and now broken) story, why not let me drive the story?
If they had focused on in-game drama instead of off-court drama, then this cool stuff could have happened:
- Announcers "know" that I was traded and mention it being my debut on a new team.
- My ex-team's fans boo me every time I touch the ball
- The announcers and TNT people "know" justice and I are ex teammates and they talk about it and build it up.
- Fans react online (screenshot of them burning my jersey would be awesome)
There's a million more things... these are the things I always expected to happen in a Next Gen game. I don't want a girlfriend, a mom, and a dead dad. Why can't my actions and accomplishments in the game drive the "story"?
