PES or Fifa - Which One
Just was wondering what is the best game to get this year????Tags: None -
Re: PES or Fifa - Which One
That question can get some heated responses. In my opinion it comes down to this:
Do you mainly play online? Is presentation and flash a big deal to you? Do you want to have just about every league in Europe in the game? Are you ok with weak CPU gameplay and generally weak gameplay? If yes, then FIFA 17 is the game for you. It's got the glitz and shine, the eye candy, the nice menues, awesome soundtrack, the leagues, ect. I just don't like the AI
Now, if you are all about gameplay and into the tactics of football. And are on PS4/PC and don't mind putting in a bit of effort to getting real clubs, the PES 17 is the game for you -
Re: PES or Fifa - Which One
Opinions vary and people are passionate about both games. OS reviewed PES 17 an 8.5 and Fifa 17 an 8. Metacritic reviews as of now are PES 17 an 86 and Fifa 17 an 84 respectively.
I think both games have things going for them and with either you're probably not going to go wrong.
I personally own PES and like it a lot. I am not ruling out purchasing Fifa somewhere down the road as I have enjoyed it in the past.Originally posted by ImTellinTimIf I lived in Waco, I would find you and kick you right in the nuts.Comment

Re: PES or Fifa - Which One
In my opinion these are the differences, pro's and con's:
Presentation: FIFA
Online play: FIFA
Career Mode: FIFA
Full licensing: FIFA
Graphics: FIFA, although there are some player faces that look waaaay better in PES.
Training: FIFA
Progressing and training youngsters: FIFA
On the pitch Gameplay: PESComment

Re: PES or Fifa - Which One
When I was a teenager I remember reading on a video game magazine a review for FIFA98, and when comparing it to iss pro 98 the reviewer's comment was "it comes down to this: if you love soccer more, you'll prefer FIFA, if you love videogames more you'll prefer pes"
I think after 19 years this is still the case...Comment

Re: PES or Fifa - Which One
Fifa would give you a more complete overall experience. Has a great presentation and a lot of licenses, wich sometimes makes me thing that it´s more like some promo product than a game. On the pitch, Fifa might leave you in awe sometimes, but if you played Fifa for the last two years, I believe you won´t find revolutionary changes on that department.
PES lacks a lot of things regarding presentation and licenses. But the career mode is still enjoyable and in fact, I consider it to be more adicting than the Fifa one. The individuality of players gets me more excited when I buy a new star in PES than in Fifa for example. On the match itself, it´s a complete diferent thing, and not meaning it´s undoubtfully the best option, it is the one wich has totally changed for better. PES has been known before for the balance between arcade/simulation along with fun factor. This year they have made a huge step towards that again, but I guess You can try that on both demos by now.Comment

Re: PES or Fifa - Which One
Most of the reviews have PES as the better game this year. Never played pes, just a casual soccer game player. Always have played fifaComment

Re: PES or Fifa - Which One
After playing both games now, I feel like both have their strong points and their weaknesses. The gameplay in PES is pretty good although I did notice after many games played that the AI made some head scratching plays. Sure players make mental mistakes obviously but it happened frequently.
I play coach mode.
FIFA on the other hand while gameplay isn't as strong as PES, it's good enough to get a passing grade. Along with that, FIFA excels at pretty much every other aspect of the game including:
Presentation
Full licensing
Career Mode (yes FIFA's career mode is still better than PES after many hours played)
Commentary
Online modes
MyPlayer mode (The Journey)
Youth Development
The two things that really bug me about PES is how they handle transfer negotiations. You can't put in a dollar figure yourself if you want to negotiate. You can only select "ask for more transfer money" and the game determines how much to increase it by....
Sorry but no...
If I want to charge another team $20 million more than his "value" because I don't really want to give up the player, BUT I WOULD if they paid me alot more, then I want to be able to do that, and FIFA lets you do that, PES doesn't.
That's a real deal breaker for me. I'd go with FIFA dude if you can only get one game.Comment

Re: PES or Fifa - Which One
I agree also, but with one thing. One of the best ways to determine how the gameplay is and how the AI reacts and plays is by playing a few games of coach mode and just watching how the AI interacts with each other.
Obviously nothing beats actually playing the games but sometimes it's good to sit back and watch the AI.Comment

I feel like that perfectly sums up the debate between PES & FIFA.
I loved the Winning 11 games back in the 2000's, but there's just something that doesn't feel right about PES to me, hasn't for a long time.Comment
