Post Scorers - What's your favorite move this year?

We have threads for pretty much every archetype but the Post Scorer. I have been messing around with one myself and I'm actually enjoying it a lot.

My only issue is, when I'm being defended by someone undersized, and low overall rating, my 95% full shots seem to be... just ok.

I also have the issue of dropstepping, and offline I can get a dunk a lot but, online I dropstep and it's almost always a layup, that is blocked about 25% of the time.

    I'm playing post scorer pf 6'10 .

    some insights on post game:

1)post shimmy hook seem to work better than regular one. You do it same way as normal one while also holding right trigger. It works better because it helps avoid "contested" animation trigger that always brick. Also using it as initial fake for up'n'under seem to work very well because your player usually changes positioning against defender which opens up a step through.

2)You can switch dribbling hand while in post up which is very neat I love to use to for switching angles to trick the opponent . Control is very similar to fake spin move and I often accidentally do one or other .

3)Drop Step and Post Spin are money moves if defender hugs you very close or reaches in. There is new canned drop step animation that just break defender away from you:
    Spoiler

With this build you have to be an axis of your team offense otherwise you'd be quite inefficient as some guy who just picks rebs and dunks.

I really like the drop step to the middle as it creates some opportunities but yet I struggle to do it consistently.

@vroman: how does the move in the clip work? it looks super nice and that's exactly how random guys defend your post guy

I love how you have complete control over what move you specifically want to make, instead of triggering a random preset animation. Up and under? Can finish with either the right or the left. Spin to baseline and pause mid shot, stepthrough? You can do that too. I didnt get 2k16, so I find the post game here to be incredibly responsive and tight.

This Dropstep video is EXACTLY what I'm walking about. I making the assumption you have high Dunk/layup, like myself, I can't get a dunk out of this, it's always that layup.

              I am 7' C, 276 lbs and max wingspan.

I love shimmy hooks and dropsteps into dunk. HOF MyCareer is almost too easy for me. But I do feel difference being guarded by Ilyasova and being guarded by Dwight. I can easily destroy Ilyasova in the post with shimmys, dropsteps and The Dreams but I really have to work against Dwight. I have to utilize my mid range (67 rated) to draw him out of his comfort zone.

Also when I get the ball in high post ISO against good/great defender I give ball to Justice, pick and roll with him so I get a mismatch with PG and then just barbecue chicken erneeeh

More often than not i dunk it now (78 stand dunk and 83 post control), back there i was like 75 ovr with low post up ratings. Not really sure but i think u need to time it on when to force dunk out of the animation.

left stick towards basket and tap shot button while posting up, of course not guarantee to happen. I had most success when trying to time to do it right at the moment opponent try to push me.

Have y'all noticed any issues with the post fades?

in 16 the fade was deadly because I could fade to the left or the right (or straight back) without sacrificing accuracy on the shot.

In 17 if I try to fade to the left or the right the shot stick will trigger like I shot an extremely off center shot. I've noticed that starting the animation, and then moving the stick in a quarter circle so it's directly down will alleviate some of that, but it's such a PITA to find that spot and still pay attention to your release point.

I have a lot of trouble with my drop step. It's HOF, and I'm an undersized Center (6'11), but all it takes is the defender to spam Square and I'll get stripped on the drop step every time. sometimes it will be a foul, sometimes it won't. I'm not sure how I really feel about it yet, but as for dunking out of it, I've found it to be incredible difficult because of the pause right after the move. You have to do the dropstep, then stop and perform a standing dunk. If you were to continue with the dropstep, he just lays it up. I'm still learning, maybe I'm wrong, but if the contested layup is always too weak to go in, but the standing dunk is always to slow to avoid the strip, the move starts to become more dangerous for my own game than my opponents. Another issue I have is when I try to trigger the drop step, a lot of the times my player will pump fake like he's doing a post fade. That misstep destroys the possession more often than not.

My fave post move is catching the ball in a post up position, as a 65 ovr, and immediately being swarmed by the cpu. Just feels perfect.

Good to see you guys are messing around with the post game and finding moves you like. I'm going to do some looking into the issues you guys are having with dunking out of dropsteps, but before doing so I'd like to know what your ratings are for the following

                            1. Standing Dunk
                            2. Contact Dunk
                            3. Standing Layup
                            4. Post Control
                            5. Strength
                            6. Height / weight

We put some work into dropsteps this year in many ways, but one of them was to try to avoid the pause you see between the dropstep and the dunk/layup. If you're getting a pause, thats concerning.

Also, one move that I haven't seen a lot of people do that I have a lot of success with ... When you're backing your guy down in the traditional facing, flick RS away (if you're clear of defenders) and switch your dribble stance, then tap shoot into the key and do the dropstep the opposite way you normally would. You should be in the middle of the key after the dropstep & this can often clear the defender out of the area between you and the basket, giving you an easier opportunity to dunk or finish cleanly.

i dont exactly have a favorite move, but my go to is a drop step since layups now have a shot meter, its almost too easy to score out of the post. if i'm in a spot where i'm not confident in my ability to score vs the defender with my fade ill dropstep and hope for an and 1
