Great question that I always wondered. Hopefully somebody from 2k can chime in.

I believe in controls how quickly you can react to getting crossed or the ability to pick off passes. Some guys react to them slower ie: LeBron will jump out for a passing lane steal as soon as I press X, but others seem to have a slight delay and need to be timed earlier.

reaction time: how fast a player reacts to X event happening. as your controlled player i think its how fast they respond to right stick lateral movement and pass lane steals

shot IQ: players general knowledge of if this is a good shot based off ratings/defense etc -- IE nick young should realistically be a 0 because he thinks every shot is a good shot

intangibles: nobody knows besides 2k, they havent told us, but as far as i can tell it is general basketball IQ

Does anyone at 2K actually know though? Half of these stats read like spaghetti code leftovers from half a decade ago. Are they relevant when a user is controlling a player? I imagine Shot-IQ, for example, is only used in AI calculations etc so it's probably only relevant if the player is controlling Justice instead of himself. The same is likely true for reaction time and a large amount of other filler stats. Honestly the system is quite obtuse for casual users and a lot of the stats are virtually incomprehensible as a result.
