Only played one game but the defense seems faster, holes close quickly for my running back and I got sacked a couple of times because blitzes worked against me, I have less time in the pocket. I actually felt under Preassure playing the game. They should just take wind out of the game at this point because they are not capable of understanding how it works. I would understand if this was madden 2 but we are on the 27th version and they still can't figure it out.

So I just finished a game that I won 27-13 packers vs Panthers me being the packers and the CPU had 3 punts for a average of 47 yards with there short one being 28. Cam still didn't try to run with the ball. Really wish they could fix that. I had something odd happened during the game. The Panthers got called for false start like 10 times including on one drive where they got called for it like 7 times in the one drive when they where getting close to a TD. Did the patch break False starts? Other then that the only thing I really notice was that the animations look better on RB when they are trying to break a tackle or trying to at least keep moving forward.Comment

Eh yeah it seems pretty bad to me. It's entirely flipped the script against the cpu. Before they felt strong with strong teams, I was losing about half my games. Now I can completely stuff up and still beat super bowl contenders with the niners.
What I liked about the game before is a big sack or turnover was not a common thing. I didnt get a lot of ints or fumbles and I had to work for my sacks. Lol well you can officially forget about that kinda gameplay now, you can cancel that. These changes were mostly because the so called sim gamers wanted to kick up dust about the intentional grounding calls or the cpu gashing them for big runs.
Well, I dont ever wanna hear that they dont listen to you guys, cause they did, and now we have your standard cluster---- madden gameplay that you all have had for many years. I also dont wanna hear these folks talking about stuff not being sim when they just blew up the most sim madden weve ever had. Thanks guys.Comment

So, three people have already confirmed in the thread that the QB doesn't fumble post patch and it's not listed in the notes.
Also, a few people have reported that the QB doesn't always throw the ball OUB on a continuous bases with pressure and that wasn't listed in notes, either.
A lot of fixes under the hood.Comment

Still must be in the game, I'll be on the lookout for it.
Whenever I feel the controller start to rumble, I'm starting to avoid the pressure or throw the ball away more so than I have other Maddens. Plus, I'm keeping a more careful eye on the WR's vs other Maddens.Comment

Madden NFL 17 Title Update #2 Available Now For Xbox One & PS4 - Details Included
Well, I haven't downloaded the patch yet and I don't plan to. However, my curiosity took me to Twitch to observe the game play following the latest patch. In doing so, I have a few impressions. First, in the games I watched, I didn't see the "line drive punts" a few posters mentioned. Punting seems to behave normally post patch. To those seeing the issue, I would suggest backing up your CFMs, then delete the game and your profile entirely. Reinstalling the game is good practice anytime a patch releases. It generally produces good results for me.
Tackling looks overpowered, which is no surprise to me. In fact, I just watched a full game with not one broken tackle. I was specifically looking at that. The variety of tackling animations compared to pre-patch seemed greatly reduced. Additionally, in several instances, I noticed an odd occurrence not seen pre-patch where the animation for a defender bringing a ball carrier to the ground would quit mid-sequence and the defender would just fall off. The strange part is that, when it happened the ball carrier would just fall flat on his face.
Question? Are you guys seeing defense post patch? It could have been the games I chose to watch, but the scoring seems a little out of control. One guy, playing All-madden had almost 70 points between him and the CPU on 5 minute quarters.
So far, I haven't seen much of anything else that stands out.

DL patch and then dl new tuner post patch. Again, tuner bricks my game and I get the Not enough space error after every play! So deleted the tuner to clear that up. And I do have over 300gb avail on my PS4. Crazy stuff.
Game play does seem faster and scores have been higher for me in Coach mode and cpu vs cpu.
I have to admit...after all this time, 2 patches, 2 tuners..there is still so much wrong with the game I am just about ready to play The Show all winter. I really think the dev staff has such a cluster to work with that they don't understand all the implications of each and every change they make. Throw in the fact that they tune for the online and head to head crowd, and well...it leaves many of us scratching our heads and seeing things that they probably never even tested.
So disappointing. Two steps forward and three back.

In the game you watched was it played at an outdoor stadium? I do think the line drive and overpowered punts are a wind issue and haven't see punting issues pre- or post-patch in a dome or dome-like stadium. In my one game it was a liner on the first punt but fine after that, just some booming kicks in the opposite direction. Will need to see more games to decide what to do.
There was alot of open space in the secondary in the CPU v CPU game i had last night but I didn't get a ridiculously high score. It was pre-season so backups playing most of the game. Alot of WR comebacks with the QB scrambling to complete passes. High QB accuracy even from the two back up QBs. Again, N=1 so I need to see more games to get a better read on tweaking defensive sliders.
Thanks for any help you can provide on my first question.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 17 Title Update #2 Available Now For Xbox One & PS4 - Details Included
This game is still missing three major components for me:
First, the CPU needs to update their draft needs during the draft. Since they don't currently do this, you will often see teams "overdrafing" at a position. For example, the Browns will sometimes draft a QB in the 1st and 2nd round. Late in the draft, I don't mind seeing teams draft players at a position they already drafted at if they are the best player available (or they were really weak at that position), but for the first 3-4 rounds the CPU should hardly ever draft a player from the same position.
Second, there needs to be in-game offensive line injuries. If they are just random events that have an extremely low percentage of occurring, that's fine. Offensive lineman get injured randomly in real life from people falling on their ankles/knees. It's really breaks immersion to be able to play a full 16-game season with the same 5 offensive lineman playing every snap.
Lastly, you should have the option to match your CBs to specific WRs. Many people have been asking for this for a long time. If you want your best CB to shadow the opposing team's best WR, you should be able to do that. Also, you might want to put a bigger, stronger CB on a bigger, stronger WR or a fast CB on a fast WR. This used to be an option in the game and I'm not sure why it was removed.
As much as I'd like to see these features, at least they aren't "game-breaking". Thanks to being able to edit all players in Franchise mode (thank god!), you can fix the first issue. You can completely change the second or third players drafted at that position to fill a need for that team, or better yet, "trade" that player with another team by just editing both of them. It's a bit labor intensive and I wish you wouldn't have to worry about it, but it's a decent workaround. For the second issue, you can "injure" players yourself by using a spreadsheet that's around here to randomly generate injuries and dropping that player off of your depth chart. Again, not realistic but not too hard to do. For the last issue, you can move your #1 CB to #2 on your depth chart so they usually line up with the #1 WR, but as far as I know that's the best you can do. I'd really like to match my corners on a game-by-game basis depending on who I'm facing.Last edited by Tonic; 10-05-2016, 08:56 AM."To whom much is given, much is expected" - John F. KennedyComment

Re: Madden NFL 17 Title Update #2 Available Now For Xbox One & PS4 - Details Included
After playing some games I've noticed that there are some more fumbles, bit nothing that can't be changed with sliders it seems. Also the my run game is absolutely non existent, I love it. All runs seem to be blocked well and you need to pick your holes and use your sticks to your advantage. I've also noticed more defenders coming unblocked and just blowing up plays in the backfield. Don't know if I like that since it seems to happen a little too much. Drops are more often, but I can't complain about that when it's something that happens in real life and isn't a game killer. Another big thing for me is that they turned off the QB scrambling nerf or at least turned it down a lot. I'm not a 700 lb concrete shoes wearing monster trying to run out of the pocket now. I've also yet to see the CPU shank any punts so I'm gonna play a few more games see how much I actually do hate it and then come back and complain. Overall I am loving what I see though. 💆

I think Jay D has made a great point relative to the kicking game. His point can be confirmed by reverting back to an out of the box state. The kicking meter on All-Madden moves extremely fast and the accuracy bar is small. This brings the question: why remove elements that make the game play dynamic? The game in its current state seems extremely scripted and stiff. I can't make these observations based on experience with this patch, but I can make them based on my experience with the tuner released prior to the patch, which is to my understanding, built into the patch.
Let's talk about the run game for a moment as it relates to this huge patch, developed to resolve issues with the difficulty of the outside run game. The issues with the run game were easily resolved by tuning the sliders. I didn't see an issue with the way force defenders played the run. In my tests, WR blocking was extremely overpowered. A simple tweak of the run block slider fixed the issue.
How many of these game play changes were necessary for the CFM guys? The interview where Rex talked about eSports and the future of Madden keep coming to mind. Random chance occurrences may become a thing of the past. It just seems to fall in line with some of the observances I've made recently with the updates.

Naive question but is backing up a CFM as simple as a file transfer to a flash drive to be re-loaded after the re-install of the game and patches?

To answer your first question; Simply copy your career file to a flash drive or online storage. I'd also caution against restoring your profile or sliders from backup files.
For your second question, the game was played at Met Life stadium.
