Just played my fourth game post-patch and it was another fun game. Beat the Raiders 17-13. A lot more defensive than my first three games which was nice.
I'm going to have to turn my fumble slider up because it's getting ridiculous. Fumbled four more times in this game and three times with my QB which makes ten fumbles in four games for me. I wasn't having this issue at all really pre-patch so I don't know why it's popping up now so much.
The CPU AI absolutely HAS to get situationally smarter. I don't know what it is but they seem to have a fixation on making dumb FG decisions. I don't know if it's an issue with how they kick them or what but again in this game the Raiders tried a 54-yard FG which came up short and then with :51 seconds left in the first half tried a 61-yard FG which came up even more short. These type of completely boneheaded decisions are gamechangers and can really ruin tight, hard fought games like the one I played. Also had a couple of the low line drive punts by the CPU so I guess I was just lucky in my first few games.
QB's do move more from my experience but are still dumb as rocks when it comes to knowing what to do. In my earlier post I had a play with Russell Wilson where he could have moonwalked into the endzone but decided to throw a pass across the LOS instead. In this game I had David Carr rollout and have at least 10 yards in front of him but he got a yard or two from the LOS and then just ran parallel too it straight out of bounds for a loss. Also had a play which I think was a designed rollout where he went to the right and then turned around and ran directly into the chasing rushers for a sack.
Couple more things:
- Would still like to see an option to have the accel clock run under the 2-minute warning. Allowing the CPU (or the user) to run plays every ten seconds while making personnel changes and not having to hurry at all really is annoying. Also causes issues with end of half/game FG's.
- Still too many throwaways for my taste. Would much rather see inaccuracies than throwaways. Carr had 9 in this game and the CPU is especially bad with this the closer to the goalline they get. I said it before but it's almost like throwaways are backwards. They won't do it at all when you'd think they should and they do it too much in situations where they shouldn't.
- AI punting could use a buff as well. Too many times still where they just blast the ball through the endzone and they're very inconsistent with their success.
