    What's the best camera angle?

I have mostly used true broadcast because I like the authentic look of the game but I have trouble setting up my plays and getting quality shots with this view. I hate going away from this view but something needs to give and I need to get better. What do you guys suggest? BTW I play online versus and franchise mode only.

I've seen sooo many different answers in the 2k threads. That I'm pretty sure it's whatever you want lol. But since I'm new around here. I've been playing with default.... I think because I like to see the details. While I think most vets of this game like a more pulled back version of my view.

I've been using the csmera that is most zoomed out, overhead cam? for a few years now. That camera gives me the best view of seeing the entire ice. It has allowed me to play better on both ends of the ice, especially defense. It takes a little bit of time to get use to taking shots on offense due to being zoomed out, but once you get used to the cam you can create some nice one timers and shots snapshots from the blue line by your defensemen.

Broadcast is the best, of course
Now here's the pro tip: If you put cold beer right before you and your 60" hdr tv, it's even better view

Re: What's the best camera angle?

well for as far as being the best you possible can be at the game in vs mode or EASHL online

the best camera angles are Classic, Overhead, and zone so you can see everything... and make plays... I have been playing with zone since FIddy recommended it and I like it best for seeing everything online

I do like medium dynamic though as I started using it when using Altito's sliders offline and I like it. I will probably try Dynamic high offline as well... I'm not sure I would use these in the EASHL though but I might try it if I get good at it..

I'm not sure I could ever play this game using the broadcast style cameras I see some using and be good at it.. I think it's cool to watch it but I would be so frustrated trying to play like that..

the only camera I ever used that goes sideways was Nintendo Hockey and Blades of Steel... I have been using the up and down way of playing hockey since the first NHL on the sega genesis

Re: What's the best camera angle?

                  Dynamic Medium.

The main reasons for this is that I play a low cycle game and activate my D as needed. I need to be able to clearly see the subtle body/stick position mistakes to maintain possession and create scoring opportunities.

                  PROS:
-Great detail in 1-on-1 situations in all three zones
-Clear reads on the goalie when looking for room to shoot
-Making an individual move and setting up a pass to off-screen teammate skating into a pass is an extremely realistic and rewarding feeling
                  -Ample sightlines for most situations

                  CONS:
-Need to know what system you're playing to anticipate where off-screen players are going to be on the rush and in the o-zone
-Can lose track of trailing support players on the rush if there is an unexpected change (if line changes are left on auto)

I was a big custom camera guy in the past, I basically played between dynamic low and dynamic medium. With the camera zoomed out slightly more than dynamic low but with a lower height to be able to see the players behind the play better than dynamic medium.

To me, based on your experience with the game...the overhead views are great for the Macro aspect of the game and setting up plays in the grand scheme. Once you have established a feel for the macro game, bring the camera in can aid in utilizing the micro aspects of the game to create more time for your players for more possession and waiting for better scoring chances rather than only using the big picture.

jattnanga... I agree with everything you said

-Can lose track of trailing support players on the rush if there is an unexpected change (if line changes are left on auto)
this is the main reason I don't use the medium dynamic online in the EASHL even though I might try it again. I can't trust my D men to be there and I end up passing to many blind passes to the blue line with no d there following me....

I like everything else about it except for that main reason... it's either I use it and never pass to d on the rush or use it and then hope my d is there.

Here is a good site showing the different camera views:

Have you ever tried changing the camera view in your NHL visual settings? If not, then it’s very likely you are currently playing at a huge disadvantage. Now you’re probably thinking&#8…

I used classic and ice in previous versions, then dynamic medium for 16, but this year since I'm having to move the puck much faster, dynamic high seems to be my preferred camera view this year so far.

Well.. I tried "ZONE" last night and like it so far. I use assist aim, so I don't have to worry about looking at net openings. I love being able to see so much of the ice.

I'm back to dynamic medium.. the other camera angles have a studdering framerate issue every now and then, I don't notice that with dynamic medium, even though I prefer a little further out view like dynamic low.

I started out using dynamic medium. But I have recently switched to "acton" I like that one a little better. I player lock on the center and with that view I can still see pretty well.

I've tried Zone and it is nice in that you can see better, but I have a harder time playing well that far zoomed out.
