Re: PS4 Pro Will Run NBA 2K17 at Native 4K Resolution, 60 FPS with HDR Support
For a better experience on the games you do play on your PS4? The exclusives? Take advantage of the 4k TV you have whilst playing PS4?
It's an option at the end of the day. Nothing wrong with giving PS4 players and potential new PS4 players the option of a better experience than what they currently can on the PlayStation side of things.

Guys- Does 2k17 on an Xbox one s and a 4k tv accomplish the same thing as the ps pro will?EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.Comment

Thanks for clarification rockie. Was a little confused with the Xbox one s claims of 4k/HDR and thought they would be essentially the same...EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. -I do own a Ps4
-I do own a PC
-My PC is not a potato it cost 3 thousand dollars
-I will be buying a PS4 Pro
-Why? Because I feel like it and have the money
-There are plenty of people who are doing the same exact thing
-Assumptions are stupid.Comment

Don't mistake the difference between 4k@60fps with every setting cranked to the max and the most likely medium graphics settings the console will be running it at.
Also i think the new ps4 pro is about on par with a 970 (the one thing holding the 970 back is the amount of vram available at its disposal which, if you can't achieve 4k 60fps on medium settings is probably the reason why)Last edited by DreamAgain; 10-12-2016, 09:52 PM.Comment

rendering.
Think when you play a normal DVD on a 1080p screen your player/tv will "upscale" the DVD to 1080p quality.
Or you can play blu-ray and it actually plays in 1080p quality.
Native is much better.Comment

How could the PS4 pro possibly, POSSIBLY be on par with the 970 when the card costs as much as the system? Cmon man.Don't mistake the difference between 4k@60fps with every setting cranked to the max and the most likely medium graphics settings the console will be running it at.

Re: PS4 Pro Will Run NBA 2K17 at Native 4K Resolution, 60 FPS with HDR Support
That's true and what I was basically saying. The developers will actually have to reduce the graphics settings to get the game to play at 4K @ 60 FPS. Also - "medium" settings is being generous, IMO.
I think that is a possibly misleading part of the 4K console marketing. The graphics themselves will not be "cranked" to max settings and I think the "average consumer" believes that they will be.Last edited by fluent2332; 10-12-2016, 10:57 PM.Comment

I have a high end PC with a gtx 1080, however I love playstation exclusives and the newest tech. Regardless of what many people want to believe the Pro is a far more capable machine then the OG PS4 and on games that take advantage of the console will have significantly superior graphics. I also just ordered the PSVR so the Pro will help tremendously with the extra processing needed to keep the high frame rates in VR and dual displays. Hopefully VR graphics on the PRO will be closer to what can be achieved with the OG PS4 on a tv.Comment
