    Re: Player Archetypes NBA 2k17

So I currently have a SG LDD and a SF Point forward. Next up is a center.

Please correct me if I'm wrong,

I have read the glass cleaner is the BEST All-around Archetype for a center?

This character is strictly for park, not pro-am.

Height: Do you guys think It would be better to make a 7'3 GC or make him shorter?

    Thank you.
    My Players:
6'6 SG 94 Overall Slashing Defender
6'5 SG 90 Overall Pure Sharpshooter
    6'8 SF 81 Overall Two-Way Slasher
    Active Daily on 2K, I play 2s, 3s & Walk-on.
If you're active and would like to run Park or Walk-on Shoot me a PSN Message and we can get some games in.

Almost finished with my playmaker.. Think it may be time to make a big.. Are rim protector bigs good? Our squad has a bunch of athletic finishers and glass cleaners but no defenders or shooters. Thinking of going rim protector C or stretch pf. What y'all think?

I play as a GC. They are quite useful in park because of their OP screens and ability to maintain possession with offensive boards but I don't know if they're the all around best. Depends on the makeup of your team. I find I have more synergy with shooters than drivers because my matchup can just wait under the hoop if my teammates can't shoot. My toon is 6'11 but playing against 7'3 guys I think I have a pretty good handle on the pros and cons of height.

          Pros of being shorter:
Much faster in transition. If your 7'3 opponent tries to rip you, which most will, you're gone. That said whether your dribble happy teammates are even aware enough to hit you on the run is another question. The faster speed also makes PNR more effective.
Ability to at least somewhat guard teams of smalls without being totally exposed.
          Pros of being taller:
I think it probably still gives a slight edge on rebounding.
Dunks near the hoop. This is probably the most significant advantage of being 7'3 for any archetype. Quite often they get an almost unblockable dunk animation under the hoop. Super fast and they basically don't collect or jump. Most frustrating part of guarding 7'3 guys because even stretches can do it.

After i finally knocked my guy out of game (1 for 6, 6 fouls) i was chasing around a PG sharpshooter with my 7'0 265lbs PF and also the paint when he would pass. Hard to worry about blocks and steals. He had like 35points in 1st half lol. Also i have habbit of not jumping for blocks as to avoid pump fakes. Id rather contest and give him bad shot and get easy rebound for me or teammate.

I have a 6'9 glass cleaner PF. Play park and pro am with him. Fast and score alot in transition at the park. Brick wall is crazy. I would say don't make him too tall. If you come across an athletic player you won't keep up.

I appreciate your words. I am probably gonna make him 6'11 or 7'0. I think that's tall enough to defend the 7'3 and you even get a higher mid-range shot. I have been slacking on playing mycareer, but I know how much a Center is appreciated in the park, especially with Brick wall. It's also 10x easier to get a higher grade than using a guard, so i'll rank up faster.

Youll be happy in that range. Youll play a lot of park games where you are guarding a guard or SF and thats tough as a 7'3 guy.

Yea, especially with that low 30-45 speed EWWW. One stepback and it's a GG.

Yeah this year 7'3 it's not where it's at . People under value speed and quickness when it come to rebounding. Some players can get there faster

I actually think speed is overrated but first we have to establish for which mode.

For park I agree it's more advantage to be faster then taller but for pro am height always beats speed.

Got to use my post scorer yesterday and WOW are they good, really underrated archetype, if you get the ball you can do serious damage because most people have never played one and opponents have a tendency to double the post immediately so if you have shooting around you they are devastating. Went against two rim protectors that were both rated higher than me, was 17-19 in the two games and hit one of them with a drop step into immediate dunk. There's a huge variety of ways to score and you really feel unguardable in the post unlike last year.
