I too noticed this. There are several plays per game where your DL/OLB wins the initial matchup, and on those plays, you get 3-seconds-or-less pressure. When that happens, you can have some success stopping the pass; you get sacks, hits, hurries, etc. But more often than not that firs matchup results in a stonewalling that sees your whole DL locked into place at the LOS for the duration of the snap with no push-based pressure. On those plays, it's impossible for any defense to hold up.
