I have been questioning since the game has been released why have the Points of Emphasis been taken out.
They are crucial if you are looking for a sim game. I've been playing this game since 2k7 and this has been a very good addition that makes the tactical experience of this game deeper. So why, all of a sudden, make it disappear?
I have had for years both offensive and defensive gameplan.
On offense, I have loved the introduction of freelance offenses, and taken advantage of them to develop my unique playstyle.
But on D, without the POE, there's no real fun anymore in playing the game.
Basically everybody is forced to be at the mercy of the randomness on that side of the court.
Combine that with the dreadful off ball defense, and the invisible force that creates a gap between the on ball defender and the offensive player, and you've got half the game completely out of your ability and skill. I was questioning myself if the goal is to turn 2k into a scoring chuckfest.
While on offense controlling a player I'm super smooth dribbling and moving, because the game is ultra responsive, on defense I'm consistently pushed to unwanted spots on the court, while the defensive assist is set at 0. Input lag seems to be there as well.
Balance is definitely lacking.
Back to the main point of the topic, ACE doesn't seem to work at all and also not working properly. What bothers me is there was no reason to force the hand of the users by taking away POEs.
Can we have them back?
As great as offense is (could be, if the next patch fixes some big holes) in this game, defense is a crucial part of the experience and I hope team 2k can address that.
Don't want to be back to 2k15 ways, a game I had to drop for similar reasons.
