Re: Flazko's True NFL Realism Sliders (Madden 17)

So I just replayed the Lions v Colts game which I lost 28 - 61 on the purple set. This time I went pink. The final score was 3 - 30. Very interesting game. I conceded two TDs to blown coverages where I switched to the DB and he paused and the WR was gone for 60 yards. The other TD was where I was experimenting a little in the 4th quarter and brought everyone on an engage 8. The AI QB saw it and found the free receiver for a TD. The game felt close and tense throughout - I just simply couldn't score. I had quite a few drops on 3rd down but the main issue was that running was near impossible for 3 quarters - just getting back to the line of scrimmage was a victory for both teams. I think this is a little overdone and that the purple set has far more realistic line play. It gets a little frustrating to see lanes when really they aren't there as no one can be blocked by anyone. In the 4th quarter things opened up for both backs but they still had miserable ypc. Another thing is that there was no subbing of the running backs.

Also in this game I played as a safety throughout and found that I was far less likely to be beaten deep. I think this set is very close. The run blocking needs to be better for me because otherwise it will be impossible to ever score on a kick return or run an end around. This slider set is predicated upon the defence being very quick on the uptake and being unblockable - I generally think sliders which are built on an ethos of slow-reacting defenses are better because it brings trick plays, play action, etc into the game plan and means that rookies with low awareness will be more of a liability than veterans. Having said that. I really enjoyed the game and think that with a little practice I could have challenging but winnable games. Full stats below.
