Re: How's your FIFA career mode going?

Finally won the Premier League with Nottingham Forest in my third season back up there, after a couple of near-misses before. Nearly got fired by missing my ridiculous financial objective though.

Managed to sign Marcus Rashford for £29m from Manchester United after CPU-managed Werder Bremen very kindly agreed to pay my £50m valuation of a £10m-rated striker.

Got some excellent youth-team players coming through too, including a 20 year-old 80-rated central midfielder and a 17 year-old left back who's already in this mid 70s. My biggest challenge at the moment is keeping everyone happy.

Going for the Champions' Cup this season after missing out the semi-finals in the previous one. Oh, and defending my PL title of course. And maybe the FA Cup too.

WTF? Werder Bremen spent 50m on a player?

In real life they maybe got 5-10m transfer budget each season.

What I really dont understand why the Transfer Logic seems to be so out of place for some teams but not for others.

It's much better than last year but for some reason Man United seems to need 6-7 World-Class Strikers in FIFA 17 and Juventus seems to buy 7-8 World-Class CB.
Most of the other teams have a pretty realistic / balanced logic.

Do players always fullfill their potential?IDK Even if a player doesn't play a single match in a season, his attributes go up.

no. young players grow slowly if not playing, grow more if playing and more likely to reach potential or even pass potential

            FC Koln - Season One

Played RB Leipzig and Bayern Munich last night, both are archived on Twitch. I played like crap against Leipzig and they were on me from the start (one of those games?). I was completely outclassed by Bayern, but Timo Horn kept the scoreline respectable.

I have a lot of work to do on and off the pitch if I'm going to stick with this.

Oh and I received the latest academy report and my future star LM in 73-83 potential? Double

                -------------- CDM Coquelin -------------
LB Kurzawa - CB Umtiti - CB Varane - RB Bellerin

                Last 5 matches
West Ham 3 - 3 Arsenal (Came back down 3-0 at halftime.)
                Arsenal 2 - 1 Leicester City
                Spurs 0 - 0 Arsenal
Arsenal 0 - 1 Blackpool (Should have got fired LOL)
                Arsenal 1 - 0 Swansea

Had a goal of 10 points out of the possible 12 available in the league, we got 8. Good enough for 3nd but not good enough. Chelsea & Southampton top the league tied on 9.

                September Schedule
                @ Stoke
                @ Kaizer Chiefs (UCL Groups)
                Newcastle
                @ Watford
                Marseille (UCL Groups)

In the league we will look to capture 9 out of 9 points and 6 out of 6 in the Champions League. The other team I drew in the Champions League group stage was Barcelona.

Team is struggling offensively. Defense has been solid outside of the West Ham performance, they just had the speed to counter and catch us pressing to high. Blackpool loss hurt but kind of happy to be out of the league cup anyways. They caught us out in the back a bit exposed from pressing and made us pay. Awful pass from Lopez.

All the matches are up on my twitch. I will post the Kaizer Chiefs & Marseille matches here.

Thanks for the encouragement. Contemplating a formation change to a 4-1-4-1/4-3-3 depending on opponent/situation. Also, I'm going to give the latest community sliders a go.

Here are the matches vs Stoke & Kaizer Chiefs in the UCL groups. 38 Minute mark for the match against Kaizer Chiefs. My broadcast audio on my mic is a lil too high for certain situations, like knocking the ball in the back of the net, you've been warned.

no no.... I know it says deadline day but that was more of just a title for a transfer recap.

I spent 250m, sold out 150m. Which I don't think is too far fetched in todays era.

Goal this offseason was to spend, be oppose of Wegner.

Re: How's your FIFA career mode going?

Halfway through YR1 with Everton. We're battling it out for a Top 4 finish right now with our highest position being a 3-1 thrashing of Arsenal at home. We were rolling with Lukaku banging in goals (leads the league with 12 right now) until they dried up (Lukaku scoreless in 5) which led to losses to Man United (0-2) and Leicester away (3-1) while squandering a late lead to get a point vs Merseyside Red.

We're a small squad running the 4-2-3-1 with mixed success. Apart from Lukaku, Gareth Barry has surprisingly been our best player, to the point where he re-upped him for another year. He's so good in the tackle and is very sound positionally. We've got a lot of talent out wide (Bolasssi, Delefleou, Mirallas, Lennon) but so far it's been Delefleou who has really stood out leading the league in assists (6). In the midfield of 2 it's been Barry & Gueye/Cleverly/Besic. Gueye is probably my most best MF but he's not as good offensively as Cleverly and I need someone in MF who can pick a pass and advance the ball by dribbling. Barkley, who sits behind Lukaku can do this but he's been a bit inconsistent despite bagging 5 goals thus far. When he's on he seems unplayable but there are often matches where he goes missing. He also can't play the full 90 very often. The backline has been primarily Baines-Ashley-Jags-Seamus. Baines and Coleman provide so much width in attack that I'm considering going to a more narrow formation. Funes Mori, Oviedo, and Browning see matches every once in a while.

We just passed the transfer window and our main goal was to add quality depth. Our backup ST's (Kone, Niasse, and Enner Valencia) have been bad with Valencia definitely going back to West Ham when his loan is over. We also needed to get a younger more well rounded midfielder and we got one in Saul who we scooped for ~20 mil from Atletico. He's surprisingly strong, physical, and good in the air for a 22yr old. He should slot immediately and let me rotate Barry/Gueye/Besic with Cleverly getting the odd run out. We were set at FB so the goal was to get younger at the CB with our remaining 10 mil and our scout found this young kid from Toulouse named Issa Diop. He's got great height (6'4) and defensive skills for a kid his age so with some physical trait development he can be really good.

We were going to sit still with selling first teamers BUT Wolfsburg came in with 37 mil for Delefleou and I hesitantly let him go. The kid was really good and still young (22) so I thought long and hard about it. Luckily we were able to get Lucas from PSG who was apparently being shopped around (Man City and Man United had PSG agree to terms before we outbid them by $1 mil). Pretty rare we can outspend those two but in Lucas we have a very similar player in/near his prime. We got him for 31 mil so we netted nearly 6 in that deal, not bad. With that 6 mil we also scooped Jean-Kevin Augustine from PSG, a young French ST who is pretty solid overall right now with some room to grow.

Going into the 2nd half of the season we're going to have some big matches, all away from home (United, Arsenal, Liverpool). That means we're going to have to take a lot of points off the middle-to-bottom half of the table. I think we're good enough for 4th but with an injury to Lukaku would really hurt us.

Anyone wondering if the tranfer system got better this year?

Just ridiculous, nearly every team looks like that on a position.

37 Mio for Delefleu? Wow... that is way under market value... you just got hosed.

I signed a 32 year Ronaldo and a 30 year old Messi on a free transfer Gonna play them as strikers in my 4-2-4 system.
