It's like that in every forum to a certain extent. A small minority who is extremely vocal. I don't mind them being vocal about issues, it's just the delivery at times.

The Show isn't exempt from this, as much as I love The Show and the forum down there.

Honestly, I feel that the gloom-and-doom faction here in the Madden forums is much, much larger. I don't mean to get off track, but there are all kinds of choice adjectives (lazy, etc) and cheap shots floating around this thread about EA devs. Page back through if you can stomach it, lol. It is definitely all in the delivery. I agree completely.

The only reason I even bring this up is because I clicked on this thread to see what the new patch did (I've been toying with the idea of adding Madden back into the gaming rotation) and after about 4-5 posts, the rest of the thread was basically trash to wade through with informative posts few and far in between. Lots of ranting and raving. Nothing constructive or adding to the knowledge base. It's frustrating to see when the ratio of informative posts to filler posts is so far off from what we all came to OS for in the first place.

The bigger needs take longer to address, don't you agree?

It was a quick fix not for the OS crowd, but others outside of OS care for.

I'm sure they will be more in store for us in the near future.

How long would that be, near the end of football season where people don't care about Madden or football anymore besides the fans of winning teams in the playoffs? The "bigger needs" need to be addressed ASAP. We're almost halfway through football season. It wouldn't be the "bigger need" if it's put in the backburners only to come out after football season is over or late into the playoffs when we already moved on to another game.

( I don't mind it either, it's when they repeat it in every thread thinking and making sure EA knows about it. ) Isn't that the point of any post that talks about a broken function in the game? It's the only way you are going to get EA's attention. If one person speaks out, no one pays attention, If the whole village speaks out, they start to listen, And if the village goes to the town hall and starts shouting over and over.. Something finally gets done. The problem is we keep shouting and no response from EA. If EA would acknowledge the problem, one way or the other, make a statement, and not just to a few. Then the repeat postings would stop. All we are saying, WE HAVE A PROBLEM, ARE YOU GOING TO FIX IT. And an answer would put an end to the question. We do not have an answer. So we wait. The longer you wait to fix a problem, the more anxious and angry you become.

WaitTilNextYear, The Show is one of my favorite games and IMO is the best sports game on the market. I don't play soccer or basketball, so I can't speak for those games. I have been a member of the Show board as long as I have been a member here. It's really not even a comparison to judge this site against the Show. Out of the Box the show is usually completely playable, and if there is a problem it is addressed immediately. The show is patched often and quickly and communication with the makers of the game is an ongoing thing. It's something we don't get here. The show has even continued to put out patches even now. I agree that it probably isn't as complicated to build as a FB game. The show adds new features, but constantly patches game play. We have had the same issues here for years. The same complaints over and over and instead of fixing the main issues, EA adds new stuff. So when you deal with the same problems over and over and nothing gets done and people are screaming for fundamental game play, people get angry. I personally feel the complaints on this site, or at least the majority of them are legit. And I welcome them. If enough people scream about the same issues over and over, Just maybe something will finally get done. If you want results, you have to ask for them. On the other hand, There is a lot of information and incite on this board. Some of the best modifiers of the game are here, Roster makers, Slider grues, etc.There is a lot a valuable information from great people who take the time to make the game more enjoyable for all of us, And it is also why you see the complaints because these people are serious about FB and just want a fundamental game.

I hear ya. I enjoy Madden. Before and after the patch. It's a fun game to me. Just ignore all the extreme cases of some here.

Well put yourself! And its very true.

People wouldnt have to repeat things so much, if they ever got addressed and fixed. So , if you dont see it being fixed, and its never acknowledged by them , then your left with the feeling, maybe they didnt read that one. Maybe it needs to be restated. Alot of these thread posts have pages upon pages of posts. I think it would be naive to think someone from EA reads thru every single post on each forum thread.



While this great quote is talking about something much larger than a video game , does that make it a false statement when talking about a video game? I think not.A true statement is a true statement. The same great man said " There comes a time when silence is betrayal" .... also i find that a true statement, even when dealing with madden.

Good post. Most of the complaints seem to be coming from the offline gamers. The game played much better on the field IMO right out of the box. However, there were CFM items that needed to be addressed. They ended up patching the onfield gameplay and CFM and in the process hurt the onfield gameplay for offline sim players.

They patched in more QB accuracy so everyone from a bum to Tom Brady puts the ball on the receivers hands 99% of the time. They nerfed the kicking game so it is way too easy for many people. And they pretty much eliminated non-QB fumbles initiated by AI teammates and opponents. Getting a sim experience is pretty much impossible for me at the moment. They took what worked and gave me no way to get it back.

We can't be silent. Every year EA gives us one game at launch and patches to the online crowd at the sacrifice of the offline gamer. We need a voice too, or just working sliders. Let me see errant passes, missed field goals, and fumbles, and you won't have to read my posts because I'll be too busy enjoying the game.

One thing id note here. As a online only CFM guy, i can assure you we( online sim CFM heads) want to see the same things you want to see in gameplay, but there is another section of "onliners" , who are not sim minded and most dont play CFM, who do want the things we want removed,and seem to have a larger voice with EA somehow.....

They just put out a title update 2 weeks ago. They just said last week they found a fix for the punting issue and it will be fixed at some point. They just said last week they are analyzing the QBA slider.

Do you think they can fix isues and have the fix go through their testing and certification process and MS/Sony's process in a weeks time, then yeah, put all the pressure you want on EA to hurry up a patch for the sake of the football season. If it's a good patch, people will hold onto beyond the NFL season if they are NFL fans. I know I kept 16 till 17 came out.

Cleve, I'm just saying constantly beating the same drum over and over again(ie repeating the same message) isn't tolerated here. Plus, it won't deliver any fixes that much quicker, either, based on past experiences. In addition, Cleve, I've told you that your issue will be fixed at some point. They don't give time tables or exact dates, because if that date is missed, there is a louder uproar.

howboutdat- I agree up to a point where to follow the rules of the site you are using your voice.

This used to be a place where the former regime used to interact with the community, but we all know (the vets at least) how that ended. The developers interact with most of the fans on Twitter.

I Couldn't agree more. We all want something different from the game. There are so many flaws, but most of them can be adjusted if you spend enough time with the sliders. There are certain ones that can't that just kill the game experience, some have work a rounds, some don't.

When playing Franchise in CPU vs.CPU or play of the moment, you constantly see when the QB decides to try and scramble or run, or whatever it is he does. He will run straight toward the side line, He has a wide open field if he just took off up the middle, when he reaches the side line he will make an abrupt cut and start running down the side line. Then he will cross the line of scrimmage, He could run for another 15 yds, but instead he will throw the ball. And of course there is a penalty. It happens over and over.

Once inside the 10 yd line, don’t even bother to try and run the ball especially from within the 5yl. 90% of the time you will be tackled for a loss and you can always count on a false start penalty in crucial situations.

Way too many tackles for loss in the running game. Some of these issues can be avoided if you are thumb jockeying. But not all of us do that.

These things do not make the game unplayable, just frustrating, and as I said for thumb jockeys some can be avoided.

But the biggest issue for me as I have said over and over is the kicking game. It completely ruins the game for me with my style of play. Some say there is a work a round by simming, But I get the same result rather I sim or not. I truly believe it is simply a wind issue and it could be fixed just by letting us shut off the wind. PROBLEM SOLVED. The other issue is the CPU FG attempts, I don't even care if they made it too easy and kicks are automatic. It's been that way forever. But the problem is the CPU will try 60 yd FG's, kicking from midfield and they rarely ever make them, especially when they are against the wind. Thus giving me the ball with great field position every time. Where is the simple logic? I am going to try and lower the CPU KICKERS POWER RATING; I am thinking that if he doesn’t have a strong KP rating, they might not try a long FG. But I don’t know what makes them decide to kick, if it’s a combination between the wind, KP, or just the logic in the playbook. You didn't see this in 16, Why is this problem now. I am not a game developer, but I truly think just letting us adjust the wind, giving us the ability to turn it off would fix all these issues in the kicking game.

Roadman say's they have acknowledged this and it will be fixed at some point. And he is in the know. So I guess if I want to enjoy the game, I will just have to take his word for it and wait. Play some games and do a lot more testing with sliders and somehow try to get a balance. I am not having the robo QB problem and the high percentage of completions. I ave. from 55 to 70 % completions in my games.

Maybe that's why I don't know some of the answers, I don't use twitter.

I don't know how you guys do it here in the Madden Forum. I really don't see why anyone would want to come here for information. This forum is filled with so much whining and complaining, all caps, and posters openly taking blatant shots at EA every chance they get. Seeing this makes me glad I'm still playing a baseball game and don't visit this forum often.

You haven't been on many other forums, or the EA Madden Facebook page have you? This forum is the cleanest and most respectful forum in regards to Madden and their Devs...

And just to reiterate, I asked Clint to verify on Twitter if the punting into the wind fix was coming because I couldn't find the tweet, in case someone doubted me and ask to link the tweet. Cleve, you will now need to take Clint's word for it, too.
