That is about as dominant way to bounce back as there could have been. In all my years of dynasty report reading, I do not think I have ever seen quarterback numbers as low as those of the Rebels in this one.

I am growing more impressed with Powers as the weeks move along, lets hope he sticks around (These NCAA games have a funny way of letting players go to the NFL) and gives you one more year as a replacement for Johnson.

Nice to snap the losing streak, especially in such dominating fashion. Good luck in whichever bowl you get!

EDIT: Forgot about Southern Miss, good luck in the rivalry!

Almost equally as impressive as the insanely low number of passing yards was the fact that Ole Miss ran a total of 27 plays the entire game!

I think the only way I could ever hold the CPU to 6 passing yards is if I played Navy/Georgia Tech. That's an amazing defensive effort.

Thanks bro...I can't believe just how bad those guys looked.

LOL @ Ole Piss - I hadn't heard that one in a while.

Same here man. I have never shut down a team like that. I mean, not only did we shut them down, but they couldn't stop our offense from methodically going down the field. The T.O.P. was something crazy like 32 minutes to 4 minutes.

Powers is really impressing me as well; it's amazing how certain backs, no matter the rating, excel while others with higher ratings sometimes just can't seem to ever get going. We lose Buck after this year and will be looking for a power-runner to compliment Deuce. We may have found our guy, and his name certainly fits the bill. He only has 285 rushing yards at the moment I believe, so no worries there as far as him leaving early.

Thanks Bookworm - winning definitely felt good after losing back to back games. We really needed a blowout to get our confidence back and that's exactly what we got. It was also big for us to maintain a chance to break into the Top 10 before the end of the year, which is very important because I promised a ton of recruits last year that we'd finish in the top 10.

Now we need to beat Southern Miss, because I also promised many of those same recruits a winning record versus our rivals!

Yep, this game was about the biggest anomaly statistically as we have had in this dynasty to date. As mentioned above, our time of possession numbers were off the charts. Those guys just couldn't get going in the rainy conditions.

It would take too long to research, but I am pretty certain that that's the first time we didn't allow an opposing offense to run a single play on our side of the field. Just an uncanny performance.

Heh, no kidding. I had to double-check mid-game just to make sure the game didn't accidentally get put on "freshman" difficulty. It was just the perfect storm, no pun intended, for us to dominate the stat sheet like that.

The offense, defense, and special teams just all complimented each other to near-perfection; I don't think we'll ever see a game like that one again.

Tulane | RB Monroe's MRI negative
                  Wed, 23 Nov 2022 09:16:09 -0700

                  report courtesy Britt McHenry, ESPN.com

Britt McHenry of ESPN.com reports that the MRI taken on the shoulder of Tulane RB Deuce Monroe (80 ovr) came back negative, and he is expected to play in Saturday's regular season finale versus rival #3 Southern Miss. Monroe, who has accounted for exactly 1,000 all-purpose yards and 6 touchdowns this so far season, injured the shoulder early in the team's 59-7 victory over Ole Miss while returning a punt.

The true freshman still has soreness from the injury however, and may be on a "pitch count" during the contest, according to McHenry. He will also be wearing protective padding on the shoulder, to help prevent further damage.

Tulane | CB Warren to see time as a return man
                  Wed, 23 Nov 2022 10:01:27 -0700

                  report courtesy Olivia Harlan, ESPN.com

Olivia Harlan of ESPN.com reports that Green Wave head coach D. Geezy indicated to her late Tuesday night and into the wee hours in the morning that, after some successful lobbying of the 13th year head coach, senior CB Josh Warren (91 ret rating, 96 spd) will replace injured freshman RB Deuce Monroe (95 ret rating, 95 spd) on punt returns for this week's "Senior Night" game versus #3 Southern Miss.

"Josh has always wanted the chance to return punts, but due to depth at his position, we've always held off," Geezy told Harlan of the former junior college transfer who is in his second season with the Wave.

"We want to limit the risk of Deuce further injuring his shoulder and we have always viewed Josh as a skilled returner. Quite honestly, he's probably been under-utilized here in that regard just because of the numbers game at his position.

"The season is winding down, it's Senior Night, so let's see what he can do. We may even give him an opportunity or two on offense; you never know."

Tulane | Contracts with Boise St., Notre Dame finalized
                  Wed, 23 Nov 2022 10:19:12 -0700

                  report courtesy Eve Jewell, TulaneInsider.com

Eve Jewell of TulaneInsider.com reports that the Tulane Green Wave football team has struck contract agreements with Boise St. and Notre Dame to play each of the schools over the next few seasons.

The last time Tulane visited South Bend came in 2018, and former Green Wave star CB Tommy Andrews collected interceptions on back-to-back plays in the third quarter, returning one of them for a touchdown.

The deal with Boise St. is a two-year agreement, and the deal with Notre Dame is a four-year agreement, and both deals begin starting next fall.

Jewell further reports that the deal calls for the Green Wave to host the Broncos in 2023 and to travel to Boise in 2024.

The team will travel to face the Fighting Irish at South Bend in 2023 and 2025, and the Irish will visit the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in 2024 and 2026.

Tulane has never faced Boise St. in football.

The Wave has faced Notre Dame 10 times, with the Irish holding an 8-2 advantage head-to-head, however the Wave is 2-0 versus them under head coach D. Geezy. Tulane last faced Notre Dame in 2019, a 40-21 win at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. The last time they traveled to South Bend came in 2018, a game they won in a 41-17 blowout during their march to their second of 2 national titles won under Geezy.

Next season's out-of-conference schedule will round out with the Wave hosting Miami, which will mark the second half of the two-year agreement the two schools struck a year ago, along with a road date with annual rival Southern Miss.

All dates and times are TBD and will be released in the off-season.

Wow as many others have said, I don't think I have ever seen such a dominant performance on defense and just all around. The fact that you accomplished it in bad weather is just icing on the cake.

Big game coming up against Southern Miss. I have really loved that they have managed to keep pace and be competitive over the years.

Thanks Cheese. I forgot to include a snippet about the weather, but it seems like we've fortunately gotten past that bugaboo.

As for Olivia...hey man, it's perfectly normal to have 2:00am interviews with hot reporters without it being anything more than that.

Southern Miss has been a thorn in our side, beating us 2 of the past 3 meetings. Their offensive rating has gone down a bit, but they have a bunch of young players that'll only get better and have some nice recruits coming in. They appear to be here to say.

It's too bad I can't add them to the SEC. I wonder if I could manipulate the game to get them in the SEC East though if I ever wanted to get creative, even if the geography would be a little whacky. I'd ideally like them to replace Kentucky, so we can play them every year as our crossover opponent.

                          Hmmm...

I may have to put my thinking cap on and figure this out if those guys keep winning (this version of NCAA doesn't have custom conferences and requires invites).

It's crazy how their season has played out. I am very happy to see our old Conference USA bretheren stomping with the big dogs. We need to knock them back down a notch now though.

2021: A rare mistake by former Wave WR Ryan Jean cost Tulane as Golden Eagles senior SS Shane Miller returned his fumble for a touchdown that blew the game wide open at 28-7 early in the third quarter.

Last Meeting: Then-20th ranked Southern Miss amassed a 28-7 lead and held off a furious Tulane rally, ousting the then-#4 ranked Green Wave 35-28 last season at rain-soaked Hattiesburg and ending all hopes for a return to the BCS National Championship Game for the Wave. Golden Eagles true freshman QB Tony Nealy, playing in place of injured starter Blake Williams, had the game of his life, throwing for 371 yards and 2 touchdowns. Nealy's 51-yard pass completion to WR LaJoshua Campbell with less than a minute remaining set up RB Dougie Cooper's game-winning 9-yard touchdown run. The win was the Golden Eagles' second over Tulane in three tries, as they also beat their former Conference USA rivals 42-35 at Hattiesburg two seasons prior.

2020: Tulane's offensive scoring binge began when QB Jimmy Williams hit WR Derrick Lindsey deep down the left sideline and the redshirt sophomore spun past not one, but two separate defenders on his way to a 61-yard touchdown which tied the game at 7-7 in the second quarter.

Last Meeting at Venue: After falling behind 14-7 early, #19 ranked Tulane went on to score 45 unanswered points en route to defeating arch rival Southern Miss 45-14 two seasons ago at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. Former Wave QB Jimmy Williams threw for 338 yards and 3 touchdowns while then-sophomore WR Derrick Lindsey caught 6 receptions for 214 yards and a touchdown, on what was his best day ever as a member of the Green Wave. Star CB Nate Hall also had a game for the ages, notching 10 tackles while also registering two interceptions returned for touchdowns as his team avenged the previous year's loss to their former Conference USA foes.

                            Head Coach D. Geezy's Take

Tulane head coach D. Geezy addressed the media Thursday afternoon after practice.

This has certainly been an odd feeling, us being the lower ranked squad going into this game, and trying to spoil Southern Miss' season and national title hopes. They've had a tremendous season and it is great to see them putting Conference USA on the map.

The story with them has been the play of their defense, which ranked 9th in the country and features one of the top middle linebackers in the country, Stanley Dunbar (92 ovr). He is the centerpiece of a defense full of solid players throughout and they all do a great job of swarming to the football and generating turnovers, as they're ranked #2 in the country in giveaway-takeaway ratio.

GREENOUT: Geezy indicated that his team will be wearing their all-green uniforms and has asked all fans in attendance to wear green.

Offensively, QB Blake Williams (81 ovr) has taken his game to new heights, boasting a near 3 to 1 touchdown to interception ratio. His top wideout, Brandon Arnold (87 ovr) has been out since getting injured in week 1 and this will mark his first game back, which will really open things up for their spread attack, as he is one of the fastest receivers in the nation. Freshman RB C.J. Ivey has also been very impressive with his speed and quickness, and he has rushed for over 1,000 yards this year, which has added a tremendous dynamic to their aggressive no-huddle style of play. He's going to be quite a piece for them to build around over the next few seasons as he continues to improve.

This is a situation we aren't used to being in around here lately, playing the role of spoiler, with no shot at a national title whatsoever and with there being no SEC title game to play in next week, but there is still a lot for us to play for - We get the chance to ruin our arch rival's perfect season, we are still playing for an 11th straight double-digit win season, and we are playing for the chance to finish in the top 10. Since we won't be going to the Sugar Bowl this year, this is also definitively our seniors' final opportunity to play at the dome, where we've won 60 of our last 61 games, and we get to do it against a rival team that has beaten us 2 of the past 3 years. Our guys are pretty pumped about this opportunity we have to close out the regular season on a positive note.

On paper, I actually really like your odds. On offense Arnold will most definitely be their biggest threat. And you know he is looking to make up for lost time. Hopefully you can keep safety help over the top to prevent him getting behind you. Ivey is an intriguing freshman. A little frightening to think you could be seeing him for three more seasons.

On their defense, outside of their linebackers they look pretty vulnerable. But with the way their defense has been playing, they must be doing something right. I'd be looking to pick on that strong safety.

All that being said though, this is a rivalry game and Southern Miss has a lot to play for. Good luck man!

May be a strange position to be in but what a game to end the season on, being able to ruin a rivals perfect season and their National Title bid. Not going to be easy and that extra chip on the shoulder to get revenge for the last game!
