    Pass Rush Ratings

What is the most important rating you look for when evaluating a pure 4-3 pass rushing DE?

Does pursuit have a great effect on pass rushing? Block shedding? Or is it PMVs and ACC?

I'm trying to determine what ratings to upgrade for my rookie DE in CFM. I don't user DEs.

I'm sure somebody somewhere has tested this.

I would say speed, and ACCelration.

As for the other ones depends. im moving towards block shedding then finesse moves instead of power moves. Along with swim trait

      Re: Pass Rush Ratings

If you're usering them then it's a combination of their best pass rush move + block shed + athletic traits. If you're not then you need to throw some play recognition into the equation.

This year by far pass rush move is most important. Followed by BSH, then athletic ability and PRC.

block shedding is only for breaking free from blocks on run plays or after the ball is caught. for pass rushing they use power/finesse move.

            Re: Pass Rush Ratings

Look at most T ratings for SPD/ACC/AGI. Most are naturally pretty low. A lot are in the 50s-60s range. Fast and quick (SPD/ACC) DEs are able to get off the ball and get up field ahead of the T. They then are able to either get around the T or execute a finesse move (spin or swim) to go inside the T.

Generally, I look for those athletic freaks that have 80s in SPD/ACC/AGI/STR. From there I can work on other attributes.

This presupposes that you are running a 4-3. A 3-4 is an entirely different animal.

Pretty sure pursuit does affect how hard they come after the QB.

                I'm on board with this.

I always felt like the guys with the higher Pursuit ratings not only take the better angle to the carrier, but also close in faster. Maybe it's the better angle that creates the illusion that they are faster....

It seems like those pursuit guys really BARREL IN on the QB when he's back there.

As far as the topic is concerned, It depends:

                - I think guys with high Strength benefit best with good Power Moves

                - I also feel Guys with decent Acceleration & Speed need good Finesse Moves to take advantage of it; they can get by a blocker without losing too much momentum.

Personally I find guys with high power move ratings more effective than guys with high finesse move ratings, but maybe that's just me.

Pursuit is a speed rating, and shares responsibility with speed when a defensive player is near the ball. Think of it essentially as closing speed.

Pursuit is most important on blitzing, but if you are blocked on a pass play strength and power/finesse move rating are the most important.

Speed, acc, pursuit, finesse, tackle, hit power. Not necessarily in that order. It really depends on where his ratings are now in those specific attributes. Also, high awarness and play Rea will allow him to make the correct angle and play to get to the ball, basically allowing this ratings to matter

Whats a good point too get his awareness too?

Should I focus on awareness first or physical skills?

I'll post his ratings later if that will help.

No, pursuit affects the angle they take towards the ball carrier. Not so important for linemen

I never user him, I usually control a LB. I dont know if I should get his AWR better first or work on FMV.. Or maybe unlock some traits...

He's 2nd in DROY, because he missed 3 games. I really wanna win that for his dev.
