Really need help getting chase down artist

I'm beyond frustrated at this point

Problem number 1 is my guy will just not throw the ****ing ball backwards. I've tried a ton of different cameras. I've set my passing to 100 or directional. I've sprinted to half to try to throw it. I stop a half before I throw it. Of 60+ turnovers a game, I bet 15 actually go backwards. About 10 of them go out of bounds.

Problem 2. When I actually do throw it backwards, the computer goes full ****ing ****** and can't pick up the loose ball. Which either causes me to grab it if I'm hustling too hard. Or they just say 'nah, **** it, Ill just not grab the thing at all'.

Problem 3. When they do grab it, I either have no momentum because I have to wait for their ******* to actually grab the ball. Or I'm too fast. Either getting in front of them. Or getting right behind them before they go up. Which causes my guy to go full ****** and jump straight up in the ****ing air.

I made a 6'7 SF. Right now my speed is around 75, and my blocking/defense is around 77. I need help. This is frustrating as all hell. What makes it more frustrating is I have HoF defensive stopper already. Which means I'm turnine the ball over for one single badge.

Do I max out my speed and defense? Maybe then I can wait a lot longer and not have to worry about going too fast? It's just that's 47k vc. Which I don't want to waste on a bum character that can't even get the badges for.

I got mine by standing behind my opponent and letting him have a path to the basket. Once he gets the ball for a layup, I chase him down with a block. This is during a half court set.
