How exactly is 2k making money off this? Unless Fit Bit is paying 2k for integration or 2k is getting a cut out of Fit Bit sales, which seems unlikely, I don't see how this is a cash grab.
This sounds like incentive for people that already own a Fit Bit. "Hey own a Fit Bit? Use it for in game bonuses!" While this feature is completely useless to me I think it's a cool idea as long as it remains optional and doesn't result in bonuses that are unattainable in other ways. As far as I know you can buy similar perks with VC. If the bonus was something like exclusive shoes that only Fit Bit users can earn I could see an issue.
But either way I just don't see how could be considered a cash grab.Comment

Do you honestly think they devoted time to this project for free? What about the inevitable time they'll spend in the future on maintenance? It's 2016. How can you possibly think they aren't trying to make money? If it's not making money, it's costing them money. Guess what businesses avoid almost exclusively when possible...I'll give a hint. It rhymes with losing money. How exactly is 2k making money off this? Go to work tomorrow. Suggest that you guys should put some effort into a new project and provide it to people despite them never expressing specific interest in said idea. Now suggest you do it with no intention of making money or way to to compensate for the time spent on development or time spent for future maintenance. Please let me know how that conversation goes.Comment

It's a 2 hour boost. You get the same effect using the My Park cards [or whatever they are called] which you can purchase using VC. It's not that serious.Last edited by Glenn33; 11-16-2016, 04:08 PM.Comment

Re: NBA 2K17 Steps Up Its Game With New Fitbit Integration
I agree with you 100% This ulltimately is about making money. But that money comes from their partnership with FitBit. 2K isn't asking the consumer to pay one single dime - to spend 1 single VC. And if someone goes out and buys a fitbit just for this...LOL - you must have money to burn. Can't we just enjoy nice things anymore?Do you honestly think they devoted time to this project for free? Re: NBA 2K17 Steps Up Its Game With New Fitbit Integration
Seriously? Cash grab? It cost you no money to use the feature.Wowowowowowow. This is insulting. Another cash grab.
They need to make efforts toward making a better and more realistic NBA game. Their sense of entitlement to consumer's money after the initial transaction is largely disgusting and perpetuated by garbage like this.
I hope this is undeniably their worst and most expensive mistake.
Effort toward making a better game? It gets better every year (wether we want to admit it or not). They patched the game 5 times already. I'd say they are working hard to try to make things right.
Again - why the hostility? This is why we can't have nice things.Comment

Re: NBA 2K17 Steps Up Its Game With New Fitbit Integration
2K17 is a $60 game played on $300+ consoles. My goodness it always comes back to money when we [OS] complain. It's an expensive hobby - we should just accept that at this point.
But the awesome thing is - this feature cost NOTHING. It's free and a cool thing for those who own a fitbit. So let's just enjoy no?Comment

If you think a Fitbit component in this game is 'nice things' then we have very seriously differing opinions.Seriously? Cash grab? It cost you no money to use the feature.

Hope you enjoy this feature and any others that are implemented in the future.
I going to sit over here and hope for fastbreaks in a basketball video game.Comment

Re: NBA 2K17 Steps Up Its Game With New Fitbit Integration
It is a nice thing to me - but I don't have a Fitbit so that sucks. But I would LOVE features like this in the future - tying it into other products I own like my smartphone and such.
When I play I gets fastbreaks aplenty. It's awesome. I just try to enjoy the game at this point - warts and all you know? I don't see things like this as taking away from the game at all.Comment
