Toughest team to rebuild in MyGM?
We all know the 76ers are the worst team in the league but with all the young players it seems after a season or two you would be steamrolling the league, so I'm looking for the toughest rebuilding project (this can include a ton of older players as I always ship off over 30s). Any suggestions?

76r's are easy as Okafor, Embiid, and Noel all become stars in 2k within the first two seasons and even if you don't want them that can be used to trade for key guys to fill out the team. IMO it would be a team like the Nets as they really don't have anything and are pretty much just on a hunt for picks and would still take several seasons of being bad to get some players out the draft AND develop them.

Yeah someone on Reddit mentioned them and I looked at the roster, 2 prospects, 2 over 30s with several more near that age and 3 trade baits. I would be able to shed three cap anchors and sign some young (probably low rated) FAs to make sure it's a rough first season but I have some nice first round picks.

The Nets and it isn't close.
No picks (traded for Pierce and KG), Boston gets to swap its 1st round in 2017, bad contracts, best player is an oft-injured center who should be at the peak of his career.
It's gonna get a lot worse before it gets better in Brooklyn. Even HOV bounced out of that trainwreck.Comment

In 2019, I guess.Yeah someone on Reddit mentioned them and I looked at the roster, 2 prospects, 2 over 30s with several more near that age and 3 trade baits. What about the mavs? They have 7 players over 30 and no one really stands out as a known prospect to me.

Nets are the obvious #1 here, but some teams that are pretty tough to build imo are the Magic and the Mavs.
The Magic has a core, but don't develop outside of Gordon and they are just naturally weak imo.
The Mavs have too many old players and no one to develop.Comment

Not really I have done 3 expansions for at least 10 seasons each and if you are smart with who you pick up and trade you can be good pretty fast. My first expansion save I was around the 15-20 win mark in season on but by season three thanks to having the funds due to not having anyone worth anything and draft picks I was a 6-8 seed and by season 5 I was a top 3 team and contender. My second one didn't go so well but that was due to stunted development from constant injury on a lot of my players but by season 6 I was still a playoff team. My third save I picked the worst guys I could and tanked for the first two seasons barley breaking double digits then all the tanking got me 5 top 10 picks in two seasons (Trading anyone who started to do well for picks was part of that) and the low contracts were timed perfectly leaving me enough funds to offer some of the big name free agents some very "generous" contracts and I now have guys in the 80s all the way to my 9th guy off the bench with the rest all being around 75-77. And was the best team in the LG by season 6 and I'm currently nearing season 11 on that save and while not number one anymore we are still top 4 and I think I can make it back to number one if I play my cards right.

Well I'm not looking for a challenge for an expansion team, I just like the thought of building up a new franchise and trying to hit all the goals.

Oh ok my bad thought that you were saying expansion teams were a challenge.

Re: Toughest team to rebuild in MyGM?
Well they are in a sense, but not as difficult as having to work with teams who've made bad contracts, bad trades involving their picks, and/or kept hold of a ton of older players (harder to trade even if highly ranked).
Plus if you draft for youth as opposed to highest ranking and you're not the only team in the expansion draft it'll still be a pretty weak team.
