You can, but it's placebo. You're changing settings - telling the game what to do differently. If a patch or tuner is released, there might be some truth and benefit to deleting your profile. On the other hand, if it'll make to feel better in doing so, go for it. From a logistical standpoint, you should not have to delete an entire profile due to altering settings or sliders. I deleted mine after the last tuner update. Since then, I've messed with everything; I can distinctly tell the difference between difficulty levels, slider and setting changes, etc.
